Nice family run coffee shop. The food was not extravagant but very good. The coffee was submerged. They also sell coffees from around the world.

This is a great independent coffee and tea shop. They source and roast their beans and the quality is excellent. The scones and oat bars are really good. The new location on Front Street is really nice and much bigger than their previous location. I'd...guess there is seating for about 40-50 which is pretty big for a coffee shop. The full back windows open up to the Raisin River. They've just expanded so give them some time to get more good, trained baristas. They also have a small breakfast menu which I've not experienced yet but have heard good reviews. The only real negative are their hours. I would like to see them have evening hours at least 2-3 days a week. I love a nice cup of coffee in the evenings especially when you are knocking about town. This is my favorite place to pick up coffee beans. Highly recommend you give this wonderful place a try!More

Love coming here and am so happy this is in my hometown. They are friendly, accommodating and provide the perfect vibe for enjoying your favorite cup of whatever it is you love the most! They are very knowledgeable about the various types of coffee and...tea they carry and are happy to provide you with their insightful recommendations if you’d like to sample something different. I also enjoy looking at the assortment of products offered for sale, such as regular and travel mugs, teapots, and various coffee servers. Just a relaxing place to meet-up with a friend and enjoy your favorite beverage!More

Quaint little coffee shop located downtown Monroe, Michigan. Parking isn’t a problem because the shop is located next door to a free parking lot. Entering the nearly 100 year old remodeled building takes you back to another era. Gold painted tin ceilings, wooden floors and...14” wooden baseboards transports you to the 1920’s. Walking through the seating area, which consists of 7 small wooden tables with two wooden ladder back chairs at each table giving a seating area for 14 customers. On the right are 3 huge thermos’ that contain the daily fresh roasted brews for self dispensing. Wall shelves filling the entire wall containing all sort of coffee paraphernalia like glass coffee pots, cups, tea pots etc. a nice assembly of accessories that would make a coffee lover enjoy the simple pleasures of their daily intake of caffeine. We arrived at 10 AM on a Friday morning and the shop was a hive of activity. We were able to snag the premium table, right in front of the window. A nice spot to enjoy our morning coffee while people watching. The man behind the counter took our order and quickly noticed my red Santa baseball cap with white Pom Pom and smiled. “Christmas already” he said! We placed our order at the ”L” shaped counter. A large black Sumatra coffee and a small hot chocolate with whip cream for my wife, $5.76. Yea....you can get a cheaper cup of coffee else-where but you are buying the ambiance, a seat at a window, the comfort in knowing you are supporting a local business and a family that depends on that business. A throw-back to an era that has sadly been replaced by social media! I have no idea if Agua Dolce has WIFI, I don’t care...however....it didn’t stop me from whipping out my smart phone a snapping a photo of the place! So if you need a break from your hectic life and need transportation to the way life was in the early 1900’s, leave your smart phone in your pocket, grab a seat at or near the window and your favorite hot beverage and watch all the other people as they go about their hectic pace and smile. Life is good!More

My boyfriend and I stayed in Monroe for a night after a concert in Detroit (I recommend Hotel Sterling for a great, affordable stay!) and the morning after we stopped at Agua Dulce Café, hoping for a decent cup of coffee. We've been to many...coffee shops and we were completely surprised to find that this was a really real coffee house! Try the coffee, try the Americano, sniff the tea, try the Afternoon Darjeeling. That's all I have to say. Also--Have a conversation with the owner; he really knows his stuff!More

We were out watching the Christmas parade in Monroe on a cold winter's day, so we decided to stop in for a warming beverage. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hot drinks here (I got a dark roast coffee and my wife...and daughter got hot chocolate). My daughter also got a pastry which was so good, my wife and I went back up and got one as well. The service was great, the prices about average and the décor is very pleasant and welcoming. We've been back several times since and they are very consistent in their service and in their quality. I highly recommend this place.More
