Although mostly vegan and such they offer some chicken dishes. I had the Cordon Bleu. It was excellent. Also the best white wine by the glass I've had inLeón where sometimes it's challenging. It's a bit pricey, but clearly better food and service.

We returned 3 times to this great restaurant. Food was delicious and fresh. Try the traditional drink with milk. Filled with protein. Local food. Service excellent and has wifi.

We were there on a crowded night (they got a positive mention in Lonely Planet guide). Vegetarian restaurant with not so many actual vegetables. Some things were good (like the veggie version of Indio Viejo), some not so good (like a very plain salad).

Hi Jag343, Thank you for yor review! Sorry you had to wait a bit, we do get busy and as everything is made from scratch it sometimes takes a little.. Glad to hear you liked our vegetarian Indio Viejo. Regards, More

We came here for dinner specifically because we're vegetarian and had the place all to ourselves, even though it was a Friday night. There are lots of good choices on the menu and a small selection of meat dishes. The special sizzling plate is really good and you can get milkshakes without sugar. The only thing I wasn't too keen... More

Hello cowsandmoons, Thanks you very much for your review and your lovely words! I`m very happy that you enjoyed your dinner on an, unfortunately, very quiet night. We`re proud to serve homemade food and healthy drinks, so no sugar added. I`m sorry abot the bread roll. We usually have whole wheat bread but I couldn`t get those.. Thanks again! More

During our stay in Leon we visited Cocinarte and we loved it! A cosy restaurant with beautiful patio. The food was really tasteful, and the lady who ownes the place is a delight. She made us feel very welcome. This is also a place to relax, play a game and enjoy the holiday! Thanks and we hope to come back... More

We arrived in the restaurant some time before 19.45, ended up with getting our food 21.15. The restaurant was fairly full, so I would assume they had a busy evening. That's fine, I can understand things taking a bit longer than normal. But more than 1.5 hour? And not a single word or excuse from the waiters or any discount... More

You must have been here last Monday. As you said, it was a very busy night. Quite a few tables came in at the same time and the kitchen did their best to prepare the dishes (all made from scratch) as fast as they could. I thought I went to each table to explain that things might take a bit... More

Both the quesadillas and the vegetarian fajitas were pretty tasty and well served. The staff was very friendly and their recommendations were good.

We came here needing some decent vegetables and were more than impressed, will be going back tonight!!! The menu has a random array of ethnic dishes, but everything looked amazing and what we ordered was the most fabulous home cooked, generous meals. We were so happy, and a really decent price. Thank you so much!!

Well, that I've eaten at anyway. There is a large selection of different ethnic/vegetarian dishes. I've had three different options from the menu and was not disappointed by any! Large portions, well cooked, and awesome smoothies. When I was in yesterday, the owner (I'm assuming) hinted at a new menu coming out soon. Have had lunch and dinner there. Just... More

We had mixed results food wise. The falafel was lovely and huge, the other dish (indio viejo)just wasn't to our taste but was cooked fine. The service was excellent. The Dutch woman working their could not have been more friendly.

Thank you very much for your lovely words! Happy to hear you liked the falafel I`m sorry the Indio Viejo wasn`t your taste, It`s a typical Nicaraguan dish with a combination of flavors I never tasted before coming to Nicaragua. The first time I tried it I wasn`t confinced either, but now I really like it :-) Thanks again for... More

CocinArte, the city's original vegetarian restaurant,is located in the oldest building of Leon (1620) a few blocks from Central park. The restaurant has a lovely green patio and soft world music is played which makes the restaurant a nice little escape from the buzzing streets of Leon. CocinArte specializes in international vegetarian dishes like falafel, pasta pesto, noodles with a mouthwatering peanut sauce or a flavorful Indian curry or chana masala. But you can also choose for a traditional Nicaraguan dish like Indio Viejo. The House special is "The CocinArte",a sizzling hot plate with sauteed veggie fajitas and vegetables. The menu offers smaller dishes like soups, quesadillas, tacos and salads For the carnivores there is a small selection of chicken dishes. Natural juices & milk shakes (without sugar!) are freshly made at the bar and a fine, strong organic coffee is served. All the food is made to order and ingredients are freshly cut. Packaging and take away is available. Open 12am -10pm, closed on Tuesdays.
