We received a warm welcome at this family-run restaurant on a chilly Wednesday afternoon in October. Indeed, the chef himself greeted us, together with his wife. We chose a table for two by a window looking onto the inner courtyard and ordered champagne. Delicious! Our...food order was swiftly taken as the restaurant began to fill up. We were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and beautiful presentation. The three course lunchtime menu was priced at 18.50€ but we would happily have paid twice that! The rosé chosen to accompany our lunch was superb! I enjoyed Filet de Maquereau to start, followed by Filet Mignon de Cochon and finally, a delicious Panna Cotta à la Pistache et Coulis de Fruits Rouge. Thank you Mr et Mme Bogaert!More

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Food and service was amazing and the set menu is great value. We ate in the lovely courtyard and every course was delicious. We came back for a special birthday meal as a couple and it was wonderful again....The owners are charming and so welcoming.More

The Gault & Millau listed La Table du Cardinal is a modern restaurant providing a great combination of quality, service and presentation at remarkably low prices. Clasically trained chef Alexandre and his wife Stephanie offer a warm welcome and their 3 course 'menu de jour'...with a choice of 3 dishes for each course is €16.50, or a choice of 3 courses from their 'a la carte' menu is €33. Wine list prices are competitive or carafe wine is too, Having had a holiday home in the Tarn et Garonne for many years and sampled so many restaurants/brasseries etc. these are amazing prices for such a very enjoyable classic French dining experience, in this lovely old 13C. bastide town off the A20 between Cahors and Montauban.More

We booked here for 5 people, when we arrived we were actually 6! There was plenty of room for a 6th person at the table laid for 5, but no, it was impossible. After much discussion they laid the 6th place and all was fine....The lunch was OK but nothing wonderful and the staff after we sat were polite and charming. They nearly talked themselves out of 6 covers!More

Three course set price lunch with extended family. This restaurant was recommended and it really is exceptional. Delicate flavours and plenty of choices. My husband had white black pudding and compote then a pork loin. We had chicken which melted in the mouth. What can...you get for 15 Euro’s at home? Nothing of this quality Pistachio creme brûlée to finish. Take the time to try the food here you won’t regret a mouthful.More

Excellent three course meal for 33 euros. You would pay more in a pub in England. The Dorade, Sandre and Bar were all beautifully cooked. The Mas Quercy, a Sauvignon Blanc aged in oak was just right for the meal if a little overoaked for...my personal preference. Good value.More

The welcome polite enough, the decor very ordinary, table setting ordinary, the food was disappointing. The bread was almost uncooked, the dishes were well presented but plates cold, overall was expecting something more for the price. Will not return.More

We had dinner at La table du Cardinal last week. This restaurant is supposed to be one of the best in the region. Don’t expect high culinary performances, but the food is good, simple an honest. Take reservations, especially during weekends.

Very nice food and ambience, along with very good service. Evening menu @ E25.50 was good value and the courtyard an enjoyable place to eat in the fading evening light. Excellent and unusual creme brûlée for desert.
