It's very good in here, burgers juice and tender. Service is nice. If you need a pit stop or a bite to eat, come here to Old Tavern Inn

So I've been on this Oldest Bar in Every State kick for a little bit. Conveniently, the Old Tavern Inn was close to my travels last week so I stopped in. Had the burger and my wife had the taco salad. We were quite satisfied with both. Friendly staff and good service. Would be cool to visit in the evening.... More

Get lots of food and love the old time feel. The ham sandwich is the best. I get the half and have plenty.

Nice place with good food and a friendly staff at decent prices. Ham sandwich is what I normally order, always good!

So I had the famous ham sandwich this sandwich is actually so big that there is enough for two people. The sandwich was excellent and so were the fried pickles and draft beer(s). Service was great and the food arrived fast even though the place was packed. I will be back.

I'm a longtime fan of the Old Tavern Inn (more commonly known as "OTI" or "The Sumnerville Tavern"). This business pre-dates Michigan statehood, so it's been around for a while. More currently they serve cold beer, hot meals, and charm to enthusiastic customers. I recommend the Ham Sandwich (1/2 if you're just really hungry, the whole thing if you're feeding... More

Not sure if the oldest claim is true. It is a quaint old pub in the middle of the Michigan countryside. Clean and with a personality all its own. Probably would not have gone in without that historical claim but glad we did. Simple menu that highlighted the ham sandwich. One waitress who managed to keep the 10 or so... More

The restaurant is a bit off the "beaten path", but it is a piece of Michigan history that is worth the trip AND it has good food, too! Their fish special is excellent. Having been there in the past on Friday night, we went on Saturday. We had excellent fried chicken -- probably not the fried chicken the nutritionist would... More

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday and glad I did. This placed open in the 1830(?) and is the oldest establishment in Michigan. I love joints and this is one of them. Very friendly staff, fantastic burgers, awesome onion rings and the goulash was over the top. Nice selection of beer and craft beers. Can't wait to visit again. YOU... More

We drove about 45minutes to eat here because we thought it would be cool to eat in Michigan's oldest business. Place is small and was packed. Very old looking but that was expected. Waited over an hour to get our food. Had only one waitress. Food was good, portions were generous. Never got refills on our drinks, had to wait... More

This is a bar out at a country cross roads Northeast of Niles, MI. It's been there forever. We went there because of all the rave reviews we have seen on Facebook - not only their facebook page, but others, too. I'm ready to write, apparently, the first review for them - a good one, too.
