Minimalist coffee shop in Royal Oak. Bright lights, alot of seating, some delicious looking desserts. Visited with a friend. The soy chai latte was good and hot on a cold day. Friendly barista and quiet atmosphere to chill in.

Had not been here in a long time but today was cold and Christmas shopping was uninspired. Place warm, staff was friendly, and the toasted bagel was a good lunch. Much more relaxed than Starbucks, which I needed today. Place isn't perfect but what is?
The atmosphere was pretty good for a cold night during the light festival, but the coffee was not that great. Definitely not the rich coffe you would get at Starbuck's or other high end coffee chains.
The bean side of the business is average at best, but I have historically enjoyed some of the best leaves (tea, I suppose) here at the Bean and Leaf.
