Beef, onion, potato, and rotabaga in a pastry shell. Original staple of miners in the UP. Just had to stop and try one. This establishment only has pasties, but the are amazingly good. Enjoy a hot one now and take some frozen home too for later.

We happened to stop here on our drive through the U.P. Wow, these pasties were great, the best we have had! The crust was nice and flaky, and the filling very tasty! These pasties really hit the spot!

Oh boy. I've found my favorite indulgence in the U.P. And the coolest thing is you can get them hot and ready to enjoy OR buy them frozen and take home to bake. Or do both. Best pastie I've had. Yum

But if you're not pull over and chow down. Pasties the size of a grown man's fist stuffed with beef, potatoes, carrots and rutabaga. I was so happy my son didn't finish his. I read a review that said two grown ups could eat one...More

These are the real thing! The crust is flaky but firm, you can actually eat them like without a fork and knife. The filling is perfect, flavorful and the right consistancy. They also sell pasties that you can finish cooking at home!

When up in the UP we always buy some frozen to heat up during the fall/winter. One feeds two adults so they're a good value ($6 each) and easy to heat up. We prefer ketchup and/or mustard to the gravy but my mom likes their...More

We ordered to "cold" pasties and heated them up at home. Wow. Very good! It's a little hole in the wall place, but do they make great pasties! Worth the stop. Enjoy this piece of Yooper goodness!

Pasties were awesome. We got there just in the nick of time as they only had 3 left for the day (we bought all of them). Each one probably weighed about 3/4 lb! Centre was filled with dense shredded potato, turnip, onion and beef. Lovely...More

We had these pasties after trying several other shops in the UP. The good thing is they put rutabaga in their pasties. The negative thing is that it seems that everything in the pasty is ground up together so the individual ingredients are unrecognizable. They...More

So, my dad was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, and he asked if we could bring back the original type of Finnish Pasties that he had grown up with, not the cornish ones sold in the southern part of Michigan. Everyone we talked...More
