This is a cool shop that has a little bit of everything. Full service pharmacy, snack items, trinkets, gifts, the whole ball of wax.

We had a great time at the soda fountain. Still serves all you loved in the 50's and 60's. The 1 scoop ice cream was more than enough for 2 to share. I had to have a Vanilla Coke, soda style. I was in heaven. Staff was super friendly. Definitely a fun place to visit!

The staff seems a little stuck up to me. They seem not to want to help when you need help. But the soda fountain is great. Food is amazing

It was the last day of our trip and we had hit many of the top rated restaurants in the city and nothing had really impressed me yet. We went here the afternoon we left and got there as the place opened at 11am. Sometimes there can be a crowd when they open but there wasn't one on the day... More

Stopped in for a treat in the soda fountain. Ice cream soda was loaded with ice cream and probably the best I've ever had. A little bit of nostalgia sitting at the drug store counter!

Lots of neat gifts and souvenirs of all kinds. The soda fountain takes you back a few decades, that's for sure. Fun place to browse.

We stopped in here for a treat while walking around the town. So much fun. The ice cream was delicious and the girl working behind the counter was so kind and helpful! This is a place to stop in for ice cream when walking the town!!!

went there after dinner next door for ice cream. The soda fountain was in the back, it had many flavors of hard packed or soft serve ice cream. I had a single scoop in a dish, and hubby had a soft serve cone. Single scoop was huge! It was $5 for both of us, (Coldstone Creamery is wayyyy more!) Staff... More

"Grease!" music is on repeat at this cute throwback soda shop in the back of Saugatuck's drugstore. They still serve phosphates, good old fashioned hot fudge sundaes, and several flavors of soft serve ice cream, among other things. The two young ladies working that afternoon were very nice. A great throwback experience!

Anything you would want in a family drug store. Pharmacy Mark is on the ball and will answer any question you may have. The place is stocked with about everything you would want for your stay in Saugatuck/Douglas....AND it has an old fashion soda fountain with neat turning stools. FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Description
This Old Fashioned Soda Fountain is a staple for locals in Saugatuck. It has been here since 1913. It is in the back of the drug store. Coincidentally, kiddie-corner to Kilwins. What is great about this soda fountain, is that they do make old-fashioned sodas with heaps of ice-cream - and local Hudsonville Ice-Cream. Even better, this is a hidden gem for families in this ever-so growing, expensive tourist town (I am from nearby Grand Rapids....and FYI...the reason I had so many reviews last year, I took a year off to explore my #1 passion -traveling- from my real job (litigation); so if you would like an attorney turned writer/traveler/reviewer, I would be a great fit. But why it is a hidden gem for families: the Soda Fountain has hot dogs, fries, small $3 pizzas, pretzels - all the small stuff little kids love and that would make them happy after a hot day on the boat or at the beach, along with a small ice-cream cone or old-fashioned root-beer float. It's a great place.
