I walked over on a recommendation from a staff member of the hotel I was staying. Neat place. It’s been in business 136 years. Longest of any in MI. I had the Westside turkey sandwich with a side of kettle chips and a Rainmaker 22...More

This place is casual, but the portions are large, and the service is outstanding. They were able to accommodate our large group without much notice, and the server did an excellent job with our chaotic situation. We loved the jalapeno poppers, fried pickles, steaks, and...More

This is a fun and off the beaten bath path restaurant. Food is very good. Sandwiches and dinners are huge. You won’t go home hungry. There is a full bar and if you want you may be able to kiss the moose!

Menu items are numerous and satisfying at very reasonable prices. A great place to go for lunch or dinner. One of my personal favorites in the Traverse City area. When you arrive or before you go...make sure you Smooch the Moose!!

I'm a Traverse City native, and have been coming here since the early 1970s. Sleder's used to have the best burgers in TC, and a solid all-around menu. Ate there yesterday with my son ... and it was pretty bad. Ordered the cod basket and...More

Very interesting place with a long history. Food was good and priced accordingly. Not expensive and the menu was basic but good overall. My wife "smooched the moose" and purchased a T shirt to tell the world. Got there about 6PM for dinner and had...More

Sleder's Family Tavern, a Traverse City original and Michigan’s oldest, continuously operated restaurant established in 1882, is known for its cozy and casual, family style dining with historic decor, animals galore, and the longest mahogany bar in town stocked with local and international wines, domestic beers, and micro-brews. Football games are mandatory; we have bar specials during Red Wings games; and our ``On the Porch`` Concert Series has been hosting exceptional national and international singer/songwriters for over 20 years. On our lunch and dinner menu, you'll find diverse American foods, 100% beef burgers, and homemade fries. Come enjoy a basket of perch or a buffalo burger with a pint of Sleder’s Cream Ale, and don’t forget to kiss the moose for luck!
