The cool welcome should have warned us that this was not the restaurant we had enjoyed before lockdown, The meal was awful. The lamb shank meat should have fallen from the bone. Instead I had to give up trying to saw the meat off with...an ordinary knife, laving a huge amount behind. The prawns had to be searched for in a huge dish of sauce, exactly the same colour as that of the ?lamb. (more like mutton!) We realised that there had clearly been a change of ownership when the dessert menu was presented. It was the plastic-covered variety of ices you see in any Spanish resort. Ice cream and one coffee ordered, we had to call back the sullen waitress to allow my companion to order her dessert! It was then we noticed all the Ghurka soldier pictures had gone from the walls, so definitely not the wonderful owners of our previous visits. So, Diya Royal, change your website! You certainlty DO NOT have 5* cooks and we will certainly NOT be back.More

Dear whoever you are, We are quite surprised with your comments. It doesn’t look genuine to us. You are now trying a different way to show us down. Please carry on. We can only thank you. Firstly, mutton shank? Are you kidding? Can you please...More

Spent £40 what a waste of money. Sorry but not up to standard. The starter pictured was inedible hard and £5 for a few squid rings. As for the rest average would be a compliment.More

We have noted your name. We know you are fake. However, you are not welcome anymore. You do this on purpose. Please keep out of us. We know it’s wrong to say this to the customers but we know who you are. Anyway, Thanks for...More

A good variety of Nepalese dishes with delicious flavour. I would recommend the restaurant drop all Indian dishes on the menu and promote the more unique traditional Nepalese dishes.

I was a regular customer, but not any more placed a large takeaway order a few weeks ago and spent £125 and ended up throwing away most of the food the lamb which is normally spot-on was terrible in fact would go as far as...to say disgusting, the chicken was not as bad as the lamb but still not great, the naan bread's were burnt, the whole meal was a very poor let down, I did go back the next day and complain and being a regular I thought I might have been offered something a gesture of goodwill but no just a simple sorry to hear thatJack but we were busy and I will talk to the chef, due to the orders (England Euro football match night) the chef was busy so that could be the reason and that was it well if that is how they treat regular customer then I am sorry I will not returnMore

Ive been wanting to visit this restaurant for some tike now but covid has delayed that. Now things are back open I visited with a group of friends. Never having tried Gurkha food before, i was unsure but absolutely loved it! Food looked amazing, smelt...amazing and was even steaming. Even my friend who avoids vegetables was eating vegetables! There was a Gurkha beer which was lovely and the staff were brilliant, polite, Professional and bent over backwards to help you. Will definitely visit againMore

We visited Diya Royal with friends last night, first time since lockdown. It was as amazing as ever, fabulous food and friendly staff. Completely safe to be there. We will be back soon and encourage others to get back supporting our local restaurants.

I have never actually dined in Diya Royal so I cannot comment on the restaurant experience. What I can comment on though is the takeaway food which I assume is the same as dining in restaurant. The food is exemplary here, the flavours and authenticity...of the dishes are second to none. Have ordered from here a few times. The coconut rice is just divine. The Bhuteko Masu is an amazing dish....could be a littler spicier but the flavours are amazing. Another good couple of dishes to try here are Macha Jhol and the Gurkhali Khasi...beautiful dishes. I will always be coming back here and hopefully one day I will pay the restaurant a visit.More

Yes, my son has several food allergies, peas, carrots, peanuts etc and was well catered for. They prepare the massalla themselves and confirmed no almonds or peanuts were used in ours.
