We'd been told by several friends, "you must dine at the Burntside Lodge." They certainly were right! We had a fantastic dinner. The cocktails we started with included the "Burntside Old Fashioned" and a cocktail with mescal (cannot remember the name). They were both perfectly made and well balanced. The dinner was a great pork dish with peaches and a... More

A better dining establishment and treat to visit, my visits have been something I look forward to annually, although this year, post-season, staff seemed disorganized and the food glacially slow in appearing, with some items out. The dining room has wonderful views, and has old fashioned lodge appeal, especially if you have a beverage in the lounge before eating. Reservations... More

Amazingly delicious food. The family went out for a nice dinner but there was a little sticker shock for us. The food and service were fabulous.

This is probably the most expensive restaurant I've ever been to, but it has a lovely atmosphere, a wonderful view over the lake that was particularly nice at sunset, and undeniably upscale food.

On a whim, I made a reservation here when my mom and I and my 2 young children were visiting Ely for the day. It seems I needed to learn a bit more about the history of the area than I did even though I grew up in a nearby town. They were amazingly accommodating although probably best enjoyed without... Perfect date or special occasion restaurant. Small portions and big prices but the food is so unusual, eclectic and good that you won't mind (much). Make sure to walk around the lobby when you are done. Very cozy.

Met friends at this restaurant that had come highly recommended by older Ely MN families. An old wooden lodge that is very picturesque and the food was awesome. Nice high quality selection, good appetizers that were very different and high quality. Very friendly service! Not your average restaurant, higher priced but excellent food! Wish we would have had room for... More

This was a little hard to rate I would put it between average and very good. The fist I had was a little undercooked and the sauce was kind of bland. My wife ordered chicken the first piece was excellent but the second piece was simply awful. We choose not to eat there again and probable will skip it when... More

Cabin #1 for a week with friends and then Cabin #26 just the two of us! It was great sharing this magical place with our very special friends! The hosts, the La Montagnes take amazing care of each guest and have made each cabin amazingly comfortable and luxurious at the same time. You won't be disappointed! In fact you may... More

We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it definitely has the old school lodge feel! Our waiter was very helpful, service was great. Our table had the ribeye for two, and the walleye fillets. It was all seriously amazing. The ribeye was tender and had a tasty crust. The walleye had wonderful flavor and was also served with a great... More
