This restaurant is kind of hidden behind The Turtle Bread Company. When you go in you can see right into the Turtle Bread. We made reservations and were glad we did since this is a popular restaurant. The food is a little pricey, but it is worth it. I think they switch up the menu once and awhile. It seemed... More

This is such a cute restaurant. The food is delicious and the servings are not huge. Just right! All courses are great. After you are done you can hop over to Turtle bread and take home some sweet treats! I will be back :-)

Ok, I have eaten here several times in past excellent food and service. Tonight it was crap. Service was none, food was horrible. Wait staff seemed to be waiting somewhere else. I had a bowl of soup that was similar to lukewarm salty water with frozen peas and carrots. I would have ordered something else but out wait staff came... More

A friend and I were warmly greeted at the door. Each enjoyed our respective beverage of choice (malbec and Belgian sour ale). The beer list won over my relatively discerning friend. We each had the cavagelli entree...rich and creamy. Splurged on creme brule for dessert...just the right portion size and the carameled crust and custard beneath was a perfect finish.... More

I looked forward to this once cherished spot, tucked in behind Turtle Bread on 50th and Chicago, in my first trip back to Cafe Levain in nearly ten years. Regrettably it will also be my last. Between dusty countertops and cobwebs by the coat check, a waiter who demonstrated little knowledge of the wine and didn't bother to stay for... More

The food here was delicious! We had rib-eye steak and scallops. Both were delicious, but the small portion size of the scallops was disappointing. I would have preferred to pay a few more dollars for an additional scallop, or two. The kale salad was also delicious. The food here is, without a doubt, excellent, as is the wine, but my... More

Sunday evening tasting menu consists of seasonal choices for each course. Starter-squash soup, or mussels. Main-short rib, or chicken. Dessert-crème brule, or choc cake. Also vegetarian option. Read the other reviews. all good. Just what a neighborhood restaurant should be like. Comfortable, clean, creative and looks just right.

This is one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis hands down. They have a limited menu, but everything on it is fantastic. My favorite is the chicken. They prepare it differently each week and I haven't been disappointed yet. Really nice wine list and 2 people can get out for under $100 which is uncommon in Minneapolis for this quality.

There was a small mix up with our reservation but did not affect our getting seated....however, had they been busier, it may have.... Our server was fabulous....Lisa.....and her recommendations were perfect for us.... The food was excellent and we were both very pleased with the entire experience... Although I do live in the area, my friend is from Georgia and... More

Wonderful meal with coworkers in this quiet restaurant. The restaurant was not busy on a Wednesday night. The service was attentive and the food outstanding. Great salads and a very good halibut. Dessert was likewise exquisite. Highly recommended.
