We had been wanting to eat here for several years and got motivated when we learned they were closing. This is casual dining with fine food. Small exquisit portions. The wine pairing is great and the service is casual but very professional. They will be missed.

My favorite restaurant in Minneapolis by far. There is always something playful and unusual in each dish. Piccolo features a very reasonably priced tasting menu. It's regretful that it's closing in March but there's a time for everything and I'm just delighted to have had the opportunity to dine here. Message from their website: Piccolo will close on Saturday, March... More

This isn’t “my kind of place” but I reluctantly went there with a gift certificate so I am biased. The food is indeed “small plate”, emphasis on the “small” but after the 1st course, scallops, which I didn’t care for, the food was surprisingly very good and, of course, very interesting. There are wine pairings to go with each course... More

We had a world class meal here supported by some incredible Chateauneuf-du-Pape not to mention the Rose and White Burgundy we enjoyed. The menu items were unique and delicious. I am looking forward to the new Restaraunt that will be opened by Chef's protégés in this classic spot. Bon appetite!

We went to Piccolo recently with another couple and we're from the first very surprised by the unique location and decor...no over the top decor or location...the focus here is absolutely the food and service. From the moment we stepped in the door the staff was great. Everyone ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings and we're incredibly impressed by... More

Went to Piccolo as it was ranked highly on trip advisor. 4 adults, 3 kids. Food was "fine" but our server was disengaged and not at all interested in helping us have an enjoyable night. I felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed that I brought friends here. It felt as if our presence was somehow a burden to our server. My... More

What a terrific job Doug Flicker has done with Piccolo. This tiny little space is comfortable and cozy, and nestled in a south side neighborhood. What was completely unexpected was the creativity and the absolutely delightful tastes that each petite course delivered. One of our party was hesitant to get the five course tasting menu ("too much") but gentle prodding... More

The five course Tasting Menu was delicious. Portions were on the small side as you always find with better restaurant tasting menus. I have eaten at Catbird Seat in Nashville and Per Se in New York. They served many more courses of about the same size. But, I have to say that the meal we had tonight is on par... More

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary last night. I had read the reviews and was prepared that the portions would be small. We are not big eaters, especially in the evening, so did not find the small bites inadequate. We each ordered five different items from the tasting menu, and shared a carafe of red wine. Each... Our party of 3 tried almost everything on the menu and every dish was imaginative, flavorful and expertly prepared. Ditto for the wine pairings. The only downside was the very small servings. I am a very light evening eater, so the portions were perfect for me and I actually shared half of my 5 course tasting menu with my dinner... More
