Visited with my husband, sister and her boyfriend. We started in the tent to enjoy the Octoberfest festivities. Then made our way inside for dinner. The dinners for two were a lot of food. The 4 of us could have gotten away with one of...More

Drove 10 hours to get to MSP and this was our restaurant destination. Always consistant and very good German food. Great selection of fresh German beer. During this time they have Oktoberfest tent and celebration outside with live music and fun. Good times, good crowd....More

We had a super fun, Wed evening dinner! Restaurant wasn't very busy, but everybody was enjoying themselves, drinking beer & Schnapps, eating massive quantities of wonderful, authentic German cuisine, and singing along with the strolling accordion player! Highly recommended for a great evening with friends!

All of the food is authentic German. The schnitzel was wonderful and the desserts are to die for. Ate their on a Friday night. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the strolling accordion player. I wouldn't come here if I was counting calories...More

Gasthof is a fun place. The portions are large. There were 4 of us. We got a platter for 2, a platter for 1 and a meterwurst. In hindsight I wonder if we should have bite the bullet paid the $8 sharing fee. For proteins...More

I've eaten in many charming, century-old restaurants throughout Germany and Austria but this place looks old and neglected. One of the best (1/2 liter) Bloody Marys, even though the garnish looked like a grade-school craft project. Plain dinner salad with fresh, crisp lettuce, a slice...More

Visited with some coworkers and this is a fun place to eat and drink some German beer and food if that's your thing. The service and food were very good. The accordion player was a delight. I recommend this restaurant if you're visiting the area.

We've all been in situations where a group of young people all have their phones out to record footage of what's happening. The Gasthof is a place where retirees do the same. Barefoot Becky, the strolling accordian player, had the group of seniors at a...More

The bigger the group, the better they like it! Very family-type of place. Personally, i'd feel comfortable with folks from 0 to 120 years old in the group.

Limited but yes. They have 1 vegetarian dish/section on the menu (a puff pastry plate). They also have a fish entree section on the menu too if at all into that. Otherwise it would be be the other entrees without the... More
