We did takeout for 3 individuals. BBQ, potato salad etc. were all excellent. Portions sizes were large. $ 52 for 3 individuals for dinner.

Imagine going to a restaurant that advertises as authentic Italian and then serves you a $15 plate of Kraft mac n cheese. This is Market BBQ. Last night was my second time trying Market BBQ and I am beyond disappointed, I am furious. My husband couldn't eat it, My brother couldn't eat t it. My father SPIT IT OUT. DO... More

This was okay but pretty bland overall. It filled the void but not much more than that. Probably would never go back.

Had the chopped BBQ plate and it was very good. A huge portion. They brag about the macaroni and cheese but it's not that great and definitely not worth the cost. Would for sure order the BBQ again but be prepared for bad service.

Ate there with the Maj Jong guys. I had the half rack of ribs, French fries and cole slaw. The ribs were served dry and I had a choice of their classic BBQ sauce or their HOT BBQ sauce. The classic is more to my taste. Their home made cole slaw was outstanding! I'll be back.

We went here on a Groupon after not visiting for many years. Drinks were ridiculously expensive... over $50 for two beers and two cosmos. Ribs barely had any smoke to them and their sauce was like ketchup. The service was good, but that didn't make up for the mediocre food. There are much better BBQ options in the Twin Cities,... Had the Groupon special and wow it was enough food to bring home for dinner. Each got a salad,1/2 slab of ribs, coleslaw and fries and we got a French silk slice of pie to share. This also came with drinks. The food was good and the quality was there too. Loved the atmosphere and we were able to talk and... More

Old-time atmosphere with booths, happy customer photos on the wall, a digital jukebox, and middle-age and well-trained servers. The BBQ was outstanding -- succulent smoked meat with sauce on the side. The price was no bargain at $46 plus tip for two diners with one beer, but I'd gladly come back.

This is where you want to be for succulent meats! The barbecue was tender but not overcooked. Tasty with just the right amount of seasoning. The coleslaw-wow!

For more than 68 years, Market Bar-B-Que has been serving real pit smoked ribs. Back in the days of vaudeville, Market Bar-B-Que was famous for being the late night spot with great barbecue food. In no time at all, it became the Sardis of Minneapolis, an after hours haven for hungry show folks, sports personalities, and just about anybody who was anybody.

That was all back in the days when the Farmers' Market, our namesake, was located across the street. Vaudeville is gone, of course, and things have changed a lot over the years. But we still smoke our ribs just like we used to. And we still get all of the important people stopping in to enjoy our food.

Even you!

We are located at 1414 Nicollet Avenue. That is just 2 blocks south of the Nicollet Mall and 1 block west of the Minneapolis Convention Center. We have free parking behind the restaurant.

We accept reservation by calling the restaurant directly.
