There is that top tier of Twin Cities restaurants. You know, But her and the Boar, Bar la Grassa, Bachelor Farmer. This is a quieter place. But in many ways more charming. The space is quirky yet comforting. The owner is almost always there, charming and welcoming. The waitstaff is peerless. And the food. The red lentil soup is a... More

The space is cozy, but both food and service was lacking. It felt like both were trying too hard to be unique, but haven't mastered the basics yet. The parsnip soup was overly spiced and had the consistency of apple sauce. The salad had too much dressing etc. The cocktails were unique- I'd go back for a drink, but not... More

A group of six of us had a celebration dinner on a recent Saturday night. There was a pleasant vibe in this smallish and very nicely appointed eatery. We enjoyed the very knowledgable server, Maggie who was personable and fun to highlight the unique designed courses and desserts. Our group liked the sea scallops, the steak and special feature some... More

We went to Santuary last night and were very impressed. Chef Patrick rotates the menu six times per year and we hit on a night with a new menu. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the Gorgonzola tarting to start which had a great consistency and flavor. Our table had the steak, which was perfectly prepared, the chili pork... More

This makes me sad because I really wanted to like this restaurant. The service was excellent and the decor is old-world elegant with stone walls and intimate tables. However, the food was hit or miss, and I think it's because every dish has too many fancy ingredients. I ordered a fish that was lovely and nicely cooked but it came... More

My husband and I had an excellent dining here. It was the first time - since we moved to the US from Europe - that we ordered three courses and be able to finished them all! Usually I found the meal at the US was ridicilously large and I could only ate one course - which was a shame bcos... More

My family and I ordered the 5-course chef's whim meal, and it was fabulous start to finish. Everyone was so kind and helpful and made us feel very special.

Because we don't live near by we don't get here too often. Every time we come I wonder why we don't make the drive more often. Go here and this is what you will find: warm engaging servers, owner on site, delicious food and great wine list. All at a reasonable price.

We read about this restaurant in a tourist magazine, and looked up some of the reviews which were generally very positive. We went for the five-course tasting menu which is offered Mondays through Thursday. We enjoyed the entire meal which included soup, salad, duck, wild boar, and a light cake for dessert, and the service was extremely good. We thought... More

This charming indoor and patio restaurant is nestled underneath the Wasabi restaurant upstairs. I wouldn't have known about it except for reading a rave review and tracking down the address. We ate outside before attending a Guthrie performance, as did others. Though it is on a busy street, the trellaces provide a barrier from the world outside. Excellent service and... More
