This coffee shop has OK coffee choices, but the regular popovers are great and the gluten free ones are as well. In fact the selection of gf baked goods is amazing and everything I've tried has been good.

Emphasis on quality ingredients. Great coffee, artisan tea. Noticed plenty of plugins for laptops. Only one person working but he pulled it off with a sense of humor.

i have been to Bittersweet many, many times. Coffee is very good. Food is very good. Popovers--YUM!!!! Customer service is always kind and friendly, but, often extra slow or non-existent. The setting/atmosphere/location is wonderful for hanging out, drinking coffee, and eating treats.

Not well organized and a pretty thin selection of food. The Tandem Bagel place is a better bet for breakfast and Blue Monday is the best bet for general hanging out and watching undergrads.

When our hotel breakfast featured see-through coffee, we hightailed it to the Bittersweet Cafe in the old Archer House -- it's a lovely, comfortable space, and features homemade popovers and great coffee.

My husband and I stopped into Bittersweet to get some soup and sandwich. We quickly found a counter that was staffed by a student-type who was apparently unaware she was working, as she continued chatting with a friend for five or so minutes while people waited. Upon ordering, we found out they were out of half of what was listed... More

This is a great place for coffee. They have wonderful bakery goods to choose from. They also serve other items, but I love it here for morning coffee. It is set right on main street, so you can watch the town walk by and then also go out and shop. Cute town too.

We checked into the Archer House and went into the cafe in between college tours. I really liked the fresh Hazelnut coffee and my son devoured a unique puff pastry they make. Nice little stop near Carleton College.

One of those places that tries to be a little of everything (coffee, heavy oily muffins, ice cream, etc.)
