This is a long time Rochester gem. It is one of six restaurants (under different names) owned by the same people. This is the BEST of the six. It is in the lower level below 300 1st (one of the six). A lot of wood, and on the walls it may be redwood (hence the name?). The tables are nicely... More

This is a very small little restaurant in the basement of the building. Ambience is fabulous. Music fabulous. Service fabulous! And our dinner was over the top! We had just received good news from a procedure at Mayos and this wonderful place topped everything off. So happy this restaurant was recommended to us!

I love this place! I used to eat here all of the time when I lived in Rochester; now it is only when I get to town. Still as good as always. Great food, wine, beer...What else do you need?

This place has a great atmosphere and located in the basement of a historic building. They have live music and a fun raiser atmosphere, the pizza is great .........and if you like pasta and looking for something different make sure that you get the chicken basilini and artichoke pate - yummy !!!!

We used to go to this restaurant often for the Skordalia and the music. I haven't had the chance to visit in a couple of years until this week and forgot how great the food is and how unique the atmosphere. A perfect place to cozy up on cold evenings with friends and loved ones.

Nice dining venue. Nice ambience great service. Large and fancy martinis. Good selection of beers. Prime rib was good but not over-the-top. Garlic mashed potatoes were good as were the asparagus. Pan fried walleye fillet was small but my wife says she would give it a 4.5 out of five. Parking space at the restaurant is limited.

Enjoyed a pleasant Wednesday evening. There was a piano player singing old standards . We ordered a reasonably priced bottle of Chardonnay and I ordered a Summit winter ale as a starter as it is seasonal. My wife almost always orders a Redwood room salad and a tomato basil soup. I on the other hand almost always order the duck... More

Overall, very solid experience. Live music is a great touch. Service got a little slow towards then end of our trip. However, there was a minor rush that was unexpected. Great place to take that special person.

A local recommended this place to us. We went in and sat at the bar while waiting for a table. The bartenders and locals sitting next to us were so friendly, we decided to have dinner at the bar. First off, the drinks were excellent. They don't water them down. We started with a spinach salad and then tried the... More
