Keen to experience a local venue we landed here for a late lunch. The tomato and lettuce salad requested was not possible, "no tomato and lettuce" but the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were a good substitute and, once the chef had returned from wherever he had gone, he cooked them for us. Atmospheric in an unpretentious location, featured... More

From the outside it may not seem like much but go in and experience the real authentic Clarksdale. The lady at Dee's Merchantile suggested this as a place to have a southern breakfast. I'm so grateful for her suggestion and glad I had such a neat experience here. This is the kind of friendly, authentic, real people place. This is... More

I've been in here multiple times, and have never been in here when there wasn't a dog running loose in the restaurant -- a dog!!! I just can't stress that point enough. How many health codes does that violate? And, that violation is visible to everyone. What health codes are being violated that are unseen? In addition, the food is... More

I admit I haven't visited Clarksdale since 2008. We were there twice and it is the exact type of place we always look for when travelling. I want to have a beer and/or breakfast with the locals. After all - if you are looking for a chain restaurant filled with other tourists, why would you ever leave home? Our first... More

We were starting our day early on our blues trail and this place is next door to the blues museum and opens early. Mostly locals coming in and out for coffee and hanging out. Extremely friendly people and cheap decent food. The typical eggs, bacon, grits, etc. I will say while the coffee was horrible, the pear preserves for the... More

Has an authentic delta atmosphere - wouldn't come for a fine dining experience but was here for the Juke Joint festival and had a fun couple of hours here listening to the music.

I generally have breakfast here when I'm in Clarksdale. On this trip I ordered my usual. The ham was a little burnt around the edges.....and the hashbrowns were......broken up tater tots.

The [very] heavy rain that started overnight has continued into the morning and is forecast for the afternoon as well. We thought it would be safer to let the morning rush hour go by and relax over a home cooked breakfast at The Delta Amusement Blues Cafe, right in downtown Clarksdale. Our host was in his mid 60's and has... More

So there we were, wandering through downtown Clarksdale, at 11 am on a Monday morning, having just been denied accommodation at the Shack-up Inn where we had stayed the previous night (due to a pre-booked influx of Norwegian musicians). We were hungry and looking for somewhere to stay, and I was hoping to find something tasty and sustaining for what... More

Hard to rate this place, because the food was good--we had a fresh and tasty breakfast. The atmosphere? All I can say is you ought to check it out. Nothing touristy, and a kind of sketchy crowd. If you like local color, go. If you like Cracker Barrel, stay far, far away.
