Staying in Vicksburg, saw an ad somewhere about this place being on Food Network (my favorite channel) Went on tripadvisor and read all great reviews, we drove down. Not a mistake that's for sure. Went around 2:30 it was closing at 4pm. Unfortunately Mr. D was not there. I was very surprised that there was only 1 person in the... More

My family makes a stop here anytime we are traveling through the area, we plan around it! The chicken is the star, but all the veggies and dressing are great as well! My kids love the mac and cheese and cherry cobbler. Love Mr D's!!

Came across this place by accident after the Natchez Trace information centre recommended it. It's fantastic. Best fried chicken I've ever tasted. It's a buffet and you don't go hungry, lots of sides but the chicken is the star of the show. Tasty, crunchy outside and chicken is really tender - a recipe passed down the generations!

11 family members had a great time. Great fried chicken and full buffet with all the Southern Comfort foods. Pork chops and ribs also on buffet. Real tea, not watered down. Country decor and plenty to buy antiques. Mr. D will sing to all the ladies and a good singer he is!!!!!! Staff friendly. Great desserts at added price. Cherry,... More

The Old Country Store is what the restaurant is known for but I think the pork chops are the best I have ever had. Fun atmosphere.

If you're going down the Natchez trace and needing a lunch stop there is no better fried chicken on earth. Mr D is a amazing chef, his lunch buffet is reasonable yet extravagant. The atmosphere is quaint and you won't be disappointed. A experience we won't forget.

Absolutely loved the fried chicken, greens, cabbage, chicken dressing, and peach cobbler! And to make it most exciting, Mr. Arthur Davis serinaded us with his sincere and melodic voice! Oh my!

Ate there today. Food bland, zero seasoning.cornbread and biscuits fell apart. Fried chicken was greasy. Dessert was good. Blackberry cobbler with ice cream

Quaint, comfortable and friendly atmosphere only enhances the delicious country food choices at this buffet. Erica was delightful, instructing and guiding us through the culinary delights at this spot. I think my husband ate an entire chicken until he was done! The chicken was crisp, moist and not a bit greased. The seasoning was perfect. Not too overpowering, and enhanced... More

Description
Please add this restaurant. I found it when we stayed in Port Gibson, MS. it is about 8 miles out of town. It is on yelp. You can see it here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/old-country-store-lorman-2, it is also on roadfood.com. It is very inexpenisive and the food is very good. Moreover, the owner is a character. He sings to you. The waitresses treat you like relatives. It is truly a wonderful experience.
