After driving seven hours we were very lucky to happen upon Wideman's local restaurant. The service was excellent. The shrimp and grits would equal that we have had In Charleston SC. The ambiance was pleasant and calm. The black bottom pie was. Very good I would say the portion was huge if we had known we would have shared one... More

Party of four for business dinner. We had catfish belvedere, prime rib sandwich, crab cakes & shrimp & grits. No complaints. Service was good & attentive. Ticket for all 4 was >$100. Good value for nice historical atmosphere.

The patio upstairs is a great place to meet a couple friends and unwind when the weather is good. I usually have the fried green tomatoes and a drink.

With a party of 20 people and had slow and inadequate service ( had to request several times to get napkins for everyone - after the food was served). The food was bland and unanimous agreement was the only thing half way decent to eat was the roll (which was put on the table a good 10 minutes after plates... More

This is a nicely appointed restaurant where the server easily rattles off the seven specials of the day. This is in addition to a full menu. I got a vegetable plate - fried green tomatoes, greens, black eyed peas, mashed pototoes and cornbread. It was good, but I'm pretty sure my Biloxi born partner could cook this just as well.... More

We went here on a recommendation by the hotel were we staying at and they didn't steer us wrong. We had a wonderful dinner, drinks, and even shared dessert. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxing. We ate later in the evening so it was getting pretty quiet. If we are ever in the area again, we... More

Had a glass of wine and Fried green tomatoes with 1872 sauce. You can put the 1872 sauce on an old tennis shoe and it will taste wonderful! A great appetizer! An old southern tradition.... Redfish Hannah is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Creole cabbage as a side… Rather spicy! Service is very good. I love a white cloth tablecloth... More

Weidmann's is a nice-ish American restaurant in downtown Meridian, known for being the oldest continually-operating restaurant in the state. The food is generally good, with a fairly wide menu to choose from. What to Expect: Weidmann's has a few distinct sections of the restaurant: a bar area just past the foyer, the main downstairs dining area, an upstairs event space,... More
