Vol au Vent was our b&b landlady's suggestion. For 28 euros the prix fixe menu was complete with amuse Bouche, cheese course and petit fours. Excellent value , a charming hostess and good cooking make for a pleasant experience. It's a long time since radish roses and kiwi slices were in fashion ( and I have never seen curry powder... Small, very traditional restaurant that didn't disappoint. The owner was on her own, spoke great English and made us feel very welcome. We ate very well, the highlight being my apple tarte tartin....light and delicious.

Good value local food. Every dish tasted good, some were fantastic. The cheese board was a highlight as were the deserts and rabbit pate. That only leaves the duck which was good too. On departure, we were given a bottle of local cider. We'd go back.

No matter how far out of the way you travel in France, or how small the village, I've yet to find a French restaurant that doesn't serve fantastic food. Why can't restaurants in the UK match this standard? I ate here with my family on the first night of our two week holiday in France and I don't think we... More

Recommended by the local B&B where we were staying, food was wonderful and menu typically French. Only downside was leaving the choice of wine to the owner, who chose a very expensive wine to accompany our meal....lesson learnt!

We visited this restaurant as we were staying nearby at a B&B and there was nothing else available in town as it was a Sunday night. We had seen 2 other tables of diners arrive before us so we wandered in expecting to be welcomed as they were. This was not the case, although empty (except for the 2 tables)... More

Visited this restaurant whilst staying in the local area and we were not disappointed. We chose food from the €28 menu. There was a choice of three different things for each course. All the food was very tasty and the for the cheese course we had a choice from a nice variety of cheeses. We speak very limited French however... More

We have visited this restaurant 3 times and have had a consistently good experience. Each time we have had the 28 Euro menu which is excellent value for 4 courses. The mains when we visited included cod, chicken and beef. I haven't tried the chicken but the cod was very good and the beef superb - possibly the best I've... More

Staying just down the road at a B&B , the owners booked us in at le vol au vent for Dinner. Wasn't expecting much, of this small village restaurant. Wrong! It was tasty, good value and cooked and delivered with a true sense of love and commitment. Something you rarely find these days. Husband and wife team 'worked their socks... More

Le Vol au Vent was recommended to us by the owner of a small Hotel nearby, Le Haute Sources, Amory. He recommended a restaurant both nights we were there and they were outstanding. We were greeted at the door by Marjorie who had a great personality and spoke English. Her husband, Phillippe was the chef. Our hotel owner called them... More
