As usual Tripadvisor finds us the perfect restaurant for superbly cooked food, fantastic views, lovely atmosphere and friendly faces. They did not speak any English but they did have a menu translated into English. It was more difficult to agree on wine but we trusted the recommendation and it went down a treat. My husband had pork cheeks and I... More

Very nice meal with great views. The food is very typical portugueze, bacalhau and black pork, and some great desert (honey/nuts cake). Recommended.

We were a group of 8 celebrating the birthday of of one our number. The lady in charge was lovely (according to my wife). The food was excellent. We had roast lamb and slow roast bee cheeks cheeks and we're hard pushed to finish it there was so much.

We ate here one evening and were greeted by three ladies with big smiles. A family run business with good rustic food. There was a slight interlude before being offered our first drink, but that was quickly explained as they were preparing a wonderful selection of local bites; cheese, chorizo, olives and bread. Our main course was roast lamb with... More

This restaurant was a complete surprise to me. Monsaraz castle and its surroundings is breathtaking and this restaurant it's another attraction you don't want to miss on your visit to this little village. It's a typical Alentejo restaurant with cuisine from the region. Great for families or couples. Good offering on wines. All the staff are super friendly.

We had lamb and we loved it both. The wine was lovely, but that's not a surprise really in this area. A pity when you get beer from a can. We found the ladies there all very friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices.

Based on such a great rating we visited this place. The staff was quite unfriendly and didnt even greet us when we arrived. they bring you overpriced apetizers and they dont bring you any wine list- just to charge you 30 eur for wine which is really high for portugal. As others reviewed they only serve two dishes and they... More

If you want an authentic Alentejo eating experience we could recommend Sabores de Monsaraz. Located at the edge of the town a short walk down the hill towards the Estralagem hotel. The three ladies carrying out the cooking and serving will keep you highly entertained. The traditional couvert was a meal in itself with 2 local cheeses, chorizo, and ham... More

This is a lovely, traditional "taverna" style place. The helpings are plentiful - which means far too much for even a hungry visitor! The food is very tasty. It's rustic in style, traditional Alentejan fare, with stewed pork being the star of the show as usual. The view over the reservoir and over into Spain is spectacular (as it is... More

Nestled in a small off the beaten path on the side of the walls of Monsaraz is this gem. I was lucky enough to be taken here by good friends ... For lunch.... And stayed 3 hours! Trying the suggestions by Isabel , the cook and owner, undeniably an angel that loves her job and her mission to share her... More

Description
Excellent traditional Portuguese food inside a medieval walled city. Lovely food and the owner is a very charming lady called Isabel. Fantastic view as it looks out onto the largest man made lake in Europe. Definitely worth a visit!
