While meeting up with friends who used to live in Germany, we decided Affare would be a fun dinner option as they advertise "Modern German dining in Kansas City." While I've never been to Germany, our friends did say Affare was very authentic. My husband was impressed with the beer selection and I was thankful my meal was able to... More

Went for brunch and were very disappointed. Service was so slow and food was tasteless. When we traveled to Germany authentic food tested completely different. We odored sausages and they didn't have any flavor.Eggs Benedict did not taste good as well. Mimosa drink what they serve was tasted mostly orange juice and very little champagne! The whole visit was not... More

Dear customer, We at Affare taking great pride in our product and I am disappointed that we could not deliver. We have been under-staffed that weekend due to 2 servers being sick at home and not able to come to their scheduled shifts. I am very sorry for this and would like to invite you and your guest to give... More

I ate here last week and was very surprised that I had not heard about this place before. The presentation and the food was excellent. I'm not big on German food but this place offers so much more. I would put it towards the top in KC for restaurants.

We went on a Thursday evening to try their tasting menu (only offered on Thursdays) and it was awesome! It's $44 for four courses AND wine parings...really?! The portions were large, the food was super delicious and we just had a great time! My friend and I loved the space. It was very open with cool brick walls and unfinished... More

They have a diverse menu, and I was in the mood for something casual. I had an incredible bison burger, fresh cut fries and a cold Warsteiner. This meal really hit the spot! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the KC metro. Very creative, rotating menu with a lot of technique. The owners and staff are absolutely delightful.

There was so much potential here. I got the prime rib. They didn't ask how I would like it cooked and it came totally cooked to heck and dry. The curry butter was really good on top so there was so much potential, so I was sad when the prime rib came to me already cold. My husband got the... More

Husband and I went for the Thursday Tasting Menu. We sat at the bar before dinner and had delicious drinks (the Ginger Bird and the Moonshine). Dinner itself was incredible; every bite was delicious and flavorful. The wine pairings put the evening over the top - we had a great time.

Just stopped in for the first time for Saturday brunch before the holidays. It was the first dose of winter weather and everything was icy so the place was empty except for we brave souls. We immediately started off with the bottomless mimosas that lifted some of the haze from the night before and an excellent deal at $10. I... More

Our group of 8 + an infant were treated to another fantastic Prix Fixe menu on Thanksgiving (our 2nd time visiting Affare for this holiday). The food was outstanding and the wine pairings were en pointe! The staff went above and beyond to make our dinner special, including offering our infant son extra breadsticks and a sippy cup! It was... More

Friends, if your event is around 100 folks, Martin and Katrin Heuser will do you right. Award winning food, farm to table, superb wines, and a friendly business relationship are hallmarks of their private dining operations. We had our wedding at Affäre on Veterans Day. With the exception of my bride selecting her choice of the main course (braised short... More
