Returning to this restaurant after several years, for Saturday lunch with my family.. Disappointed with the service, had to wait some 30 minutes for the starters and similar time for the Main course. The restaurant was not over busy. My granddaughter had ordered a child's Beef Burger with cheese. It arrived on a breakfast bap which was cold with no... More

We were struggling to find somewhere reasonable to eat on a Monday lunch time, the Turnpike was suggested & before you know it we were sat waiting to order. Although it is out of the way a little, it is a nice drive over. Very nicely set out inside. Staff did seem quite friendly & helpful, The menu was a... More

Great to pop into of the M62. Nice food, quick service. Kids menu was good, even though the portions are huge for little 'uns. Relaxed atmosphere and decorated well.

The inside is more traditional sort of interior with a modern twist. Not really a "formula pub" which was nice. We ordered a... More

Previously eaten the fish and chips here and loved it. Today however, I was tempted by the wild mushroom risotto. It arrived with a top dressing of pea shoots. These were very limp. Tucking into the risotto it had a sourish taste and was totally unseasoned without even a flavour of the mushrooms. My husband tasted it and he did... More

We visited The Turnpike one wednwsdyfor a late lunch. We hadn't booked but rang ahead to check we could get in, which wasn't a problem. I must admit I had read some reviews prior to our visit, which spoke about long waits for food etc. I can honestly say that on our visit the food was served very quickly indeed... More

Service very very slow. I had the giant haddock and fat chips. The batter was poor and the fish tasteless . Chips bland. 8 of us and no one would go back . Shame
