I have been in mourning since Pratzel's closed. Petrofsky, Komen, and Pratzel the big three all gone, and one of them owned by Sara Lee. Sara Lee, my grandmother is rolling in her grave. Of course there is Schnuck's and Dierberg's, but to a bagel that is similar to comparing Augusta National to a putt-putt course. One of the food... More

If you're looking for the perfect bagel, come in the early morning hours...they offer a variety of bagels from plain to savory to sweet. Bagels are sold at the counter and there is a self serve fridge with cream cheeses. This establishment has been around for over 40 years and they know how to make REAL New York style bagels.... The only spot in St. Louis for a true water bagel. You will not want to eat another frozen bagel from one of the chain stores. Get there early as they sell out quickly.

Love the bagels here, especially hot from the oven (worth the crumbs in my car.) They boil them, the old-school way, so the chewy texture is right on. The only drawback is they accept cash only (or checks) which definitely reduces my carb intake. (Maybe I shouldn't call it a drawback.) Their traditional flavors are the best, and sometimes they... These are the real deal. None of the fancy-schmantzy fake flavors here, just the shine and correct texture of the properly made bagel as found in NYC. Go early in the day.

This little place has no seating and sells essentially nothing but bagels and sometimes challa bread, with a few toppings such as butter and cream cheese. The bagels are excellent and you can get 18 for the price of twelve with a coupon that is published in the first issue of each month of Jewish Light.

How cool it is to find a REAL WATER BOILED BAGEL. We travel about 2 hours to get to St Louis and will always make it a stop on our visit. Easy for us to find and always plenty of choices if you get there by mid morning. GO! Enjoy and try many different types.

These bagels are superior to many I have tasted. They ALWAYS have a fresh supply of many flavors. The help is also very attentive and pleasant. How would you not want a bagel and cup of coffee plus a dozen or two to go?

These are real bagels as they are meant to be, thick and chewy. These are NOT mass produced, fluffy rolls whose primary purpose is sandwich bread. The Bagel Factory bagels are tasty on their own or with a schmeer of cream cheese (lox optional).
