Iron Barley definitely wasn't what we expected when we walked through the door. When our appetizers hit the table we were pleasantly surprised. We had the sausage platter and it was so delicious. Three different types of sausage, bread, BBQ sauce etc. I was ready to say Uncle after that but no, the main course was on it's way. The... More

We went to this restaurant for date night. It's a fairly small restaurant which made it difficult to hear. Because of this I believe we had a couple of misunderstandings with our waitress, resulting in an extra glass of wine that was not actually ordered (although we did have to pay for it) and the medium well prime rib being... I'd been wanting to go here for quite a while now, and I finally had my chance on a Saturday night with family. What to know: Setting - If you judged a book by its cover, you wouldn't stop. It is a small joint in a really old part of south St. Louis. Not much to the setting, but a... More

I visited the restaurant because it was featured on the Food Network. The service was friendly, but the food was way too salty.

I've lived in this town all my life and i have to say when people ask me where to dine, Iron Barley is my suggestion. Every meal has been a true dining adventure. I love how they blend unusual food combinations. The basement bar is so South St. Louis, and the place is nothing fancy, but it's my fave. (and... More

We always love to check out Triple D restaurants when time allows on our trips -- this was an excellent choice. The food was magnificent. The 50/50 burger was cousin's favorite burger.

As lovers of Schnitzel & Spaetzel, this was a must try. We started with smoked wings and Southwest BBQ Shrimp as starters and graduated to the main course. Our server was extremely cordial and suggested the dark beer (excellent) and wine for the dinner. We truly enjoyed this rustic eating experience.

Went here as it was on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and we try to hit one on every vacation. Just south of down town, it is a smaller place. The waitstaff were all friendly. We went for lunch, and were all satisfied and full with our meals. For some reason, the Monte Cristo Foot Long just works. It was... More
