Found this restaurant on zapato. We were not disappointed! They had a whole fried tilapia with tomato and pepper sauce on top. My husband is Haitian and they take eating fish seriously- he ate it all!!! Tostones (fried green plantain) with fried cheese (SO good!), fried sweet plantain, rice and red or black beans, pickled cabbage salad, carne asada, chicken... More

This is a neighborhood restaurant serving Nicaraguan food. There was a variety of options so our whole group was happy. I had bean empanadas, which weren't actually on the menu, but they made them for me because they had run out of zucchini for the zucchini empanadas. Service was excellent.

Had a great family lunch starting with 3 of the appetizers and then enjoyed the fried chicken with rice and beans and plantain and banana's. Very friendly staff and fast service.

Delicious from another country. The food transports you to Central America. Best plantains I have ever eaten. We sat at an outside table and enjoyed every bite from empanadas to chimichurri.

As a suggestion from a friend in St. Louis, she said to try Fritanga. It's off the beaten path from downtown or Delmar for example. Tried the churrasco nica (grilled skirt steak) with chimichurri sauce and it was so flavorable that I could not put my knife and fork down. The accompanying maduros were neatly presented and was a welcome... More

Had dinner here during a recent visit to St Louis, food was delicious. A very pleasant staff, very helpful. The menu was varied with authentic nicaraguan offerings. I highly recommend you take the time to visit it.

The restaurant menu lists two beef entrees as "tri-tip". The meat I was served last nite wasn't even close to a tri-tip roast. I explained to the chef that his meat supplier was mislabeling the meat. He brought out a shrink wrapped package of meat and I said those are not tri-tips. I took one bite of what tasted like... More

This restaurant isn't in the best part of town nor is it a fancy place BUT, everything else about it rocks. Unpretentious might be the best way to describe the restaurant. Small, family atmosphere with friendly service. This is a great place to try different things. We had the fried plantains with cheese-enjoyable. This is my second trip and I... More

We ventured out of my comfort zone here, but it was delicious. the beef was so tender and season well. Had plantains cooked several different ways, some good, some bad. But on the whole the dinner was delicious and the service was superb. The waitress was very helpful with tips about the menu. Give it a try -- you won't be... More
