Well pleased! It was an exceptional hot spell when we were there last spring but we sat outside all day (moved periodically to stay in the shade! Food was brought out to us. In the evening we ate excellent meals in the resteraunt and the staff could not have been more accommodating. I'd go back any time!

Drove back here after walking a long section of The Sandstone Trail and we were ready for lunch. Beautiful food, perfectly presented and perfectly cooked. Service is great too and they are very efficient and attentive. Looking forward to visit number four!

Its been a while since we have been here & it seems to have changed hands and menu, which is now relatively good wholesome food, reasonably priced. Selection of ales is good, the staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly. I had Pil Pil prawns which were adequate, and piping hot, the smoked salmon & beetroot starter was also well received.... We were completing a 9 mile walk around Beeston & Peckforton so stopped at this pub twice on the same day, the 1st time was when we had completed half of the walk so had a quick drink. The Applewood cider was lovely & fruity & our real ale expert enjoyed his choice of blonde ale. Prices were reasonable &... More

We booked a table in advance for 6.45 as a birthday surprise. When we arrived we were told the table 'wasn't ready' which was a little odd since it was so early and the restaurant appeared quite quiet. We sat in the bar and waited.........and waited.........and were finally seated at 7.20pm (not very good for an early booking). We then... More

Recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic location, great views. Had a couple of course that were plentiful. Really busy on a sunny afternoon. Eat in the beer garden then moved to the tables in the front to take in the view with another drink. Food came quickly and was really nice but what was deep fried was... More

Our most recent visit was for a late afternoon lunch following a visit to nearby Beeston Castle. Great food, great staff, lovely location with good views. Perhaps food and drink prices are slightly above average but the food was good and this pub is worth a visit. Perhaps park up and enjoy nearby country walks before returning and enjoying the...
