We met friends for lunch and enjoyed the food. The ambiance could use an update because the dining room is dark and hohum. The surrounding area outside is so pretty, and with some remodeling to include larger windows, it could be a much better experience. That said, the menu has many choices and my Ruben sandwich was good and the... More

I had hopes for this restaurant. My parents enjoy it, but sadly the quality and service left a lot to be desired. The bright spot was the salad bar, that was enjoyable and tasty. The entrees mostly appeared to be from packaged or frozen food from the Cash N Carry. A little cooking effort could have gone a long way.... More

It is the Swan Valley. It is a priceless landscape. The Bear is good. Small town good. Go in with city attitude, and you will be disappointed. With city mindset, you have no point in even being here.

A wilderness focused theme in decorating might explain why it looked as if the wildlife had grazed through the dining room and salad bar. The pizza was good. But everything else just left me wanting - something different.

I have to say that I am so very disappointed after coming to this restaurant for over 30 years whenever I come to visit Swan Valley. I have always spoken very highly of my past experiences and wanted to share this experience with my children. My daughter ordered a steak and since she doesn't like baked potatoes she asked for... On the road after camping in the mtns I chanced on this eatery beckoning me with a neon 'Open' . The med rare steak was fork tender & went down well with the eggs & hash browns. Ready to head out!

We had very high expectation and were a bit disappointed, the serves was good, but not very friendly or enthusiastic about us being there. The food was ok and the atmosphere was not very inviting.

After a great day of hiking at Holland Lake and the Holland lake falls we decided to eat dinner at Hungry Bear...boy am I glad we did! We were on a limited budget and we had to feed 3 so we decided on a pizza with some appetizers and a bowl of cheese soup. The pizza was a fantastic tasting... More
