We love the Uptown as they cook up the best veggie browns, breakfast, meatloaf sandwich and famous cream of tomato soup. It is a friendly home town place with all home-style cooking, comfortable diner environment and great music from the 50's. Don't miss their thick milkshakes! Thank you Hailey and Alex!

Coffee cup is never empty and the food is what I remember when I was a kid. The service is with a smile and I have never had to wait for a table.

Great burgers, shakes and fries! Period style seating, decor and atmosphere. Voted the best shakes in town many times, One shake equals two full servings so ask to split one if that's too much. They'll serve it in two glasses. Only open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Open 8-3 other days.

Saw other reviews and decided to give it a try while in town in business. 9:30 am on a Wednesday and there were plenty of seats. Very friendly greeting upon arrival. Ordered the Ham/Cheese omelet with pancakes. Food was very good and large portions. I'll be back.

We visited here with a group of 9 people for breakfast. We had a short wait while the staff fixed a table large enough for our group. The staff were so attentive constantly refilling coffee and making sure we had everything we needed while we waited. The food was delicious although i couldnt finish mine, big portions. I got pancakes... More

The Uptown Diner has very good diner food. This is a classic, 50's style diner with really fun decor. The staff is always friendly, fast and cheerful. You can't leave hungry or without a smile on your face. Local TIP: They have taken the milkshake to an art form. Most popular lunch is toasted cheese sandwich and their famous tomato... More

Or going to the Uptown for lunch - it is all good and breakfast is served all day long. I enjoy the Cream of Tomato soup and the Veggie Fries. Alex is a most professional and personable server - we love it all at the Uptown including their fountain milk shakes!

I am in a group of 5 guys and we now meet there every week for breakfast. This is the type of place and people I grew up with in the 60's. I think the furniture is still the same but what a comfortable trip back in time. The staff is just great. Almost seems like you will get hug... More

We were in town for the weekend and this place was recommended by a former local. It's quaint and the good was really good. We had omelettes and their home fries. Delicious!

No trip to downtown Missoula would be complete without a visit to the Uptown Diner. Burgers, fries and old-fashioned malts and shakes served with whipped cream and a cherry. Can't be beat.

Thank Richard W
