We try to book a week skiing every year at Whitefish and when we do we book a couple of nights at Cafe Kandahar. The food is always excellent, we particularly like to try the five or seven course Chef's Tasting. The staff are engaging and very knowledgeable about the food and great at suggesting wine pairings. The restaurant is... More

Dinner was excellent. Chef Blanton does an incredible job in such a tiny venue. A bit pricey for the typical skier clientele and that would keep us away from returning unless it was a special occasion. Bartender in the Snug Bar was a little rude but did not take away from the rest of the evening at the Cafe Kandahar... More

Perfect après-ski setting of deep furniture surrounding a large, real-wood fireplace. Very nice bar list, including excellent by-the-glass wine list. Appetizers and small-plates all sounded good. However, when trying to order them, was told that the main restaurant was having a special event and NO food would be served in the bar for several hours. Would have been nice to... More

Came to Cafe Kandahar with a ski club. The food was excellent, especially the pre-dinner appetizers from the strolling servers. Speaking of which, the servers in the restaurant are a bit snooty, which was the only downside of our evening. Highly recommend the buffalo steak dinner.

Lovely place, service is impeccable. I am not a big eater but food portions small. Place is beautiful but expensive. Food is delicious, albeit small and pricey

Nice place. Terrific atmosphere. Service impeccable. Came every year on our anniversary but last few years have left disappointed. Food is wonderful but very small portions, and i am not a big eater. Quite expensive for what you get. Definitely worth visiting and deciding for yourself.

I was not sure what to expect at this eatery attached to the hotel. What a great meal. A la carte or with the tasting menu you will be pleased. Beautiful décor with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extensive wine list, pricey.... Or eat in the small bar where you can enjoy draft beer, cocktails and the lobby fireplace. A couple... More

The food was great (a little pricey but worth it). Everything was cooked to order and tasted amazing. I love the selection of locally sourced food.

First of all, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. However, the portions were tiny. After appetizers and entrée my husband and I were still hungry. Also, our waiter informed us that the regular menu had been "somewhat condensed" for Christmas. That's right - condensed, not expanded. Therefore the more exotic and interesting dishes like elk and buffalo... More
