This is not good any more. Beef was old and dry and reheated a bunch. Margaritas were horrible. So sad this used to be so good. Will not try again for a long time.

The wait staff were friendly, wanted to assist, good food, fair prices. If we return to Grand Island we will eat here again.

I've visited El Tapitio on several of my recent visits to Grand Island. I live in Austin, Texas and am a student of the many different styles of Mexican cuisine. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and authenticity at El Tapitio. They have plenty of fairly typical tex-mex options (enchiladas, burritos, etc.) which are tasty and filling. They also... You absolutely have to try the hard shell shredded beef tacos. The way these guys do it is amazing. The flavor is amazing.

Stopped here because we were in the mood for a good margarita and good Mexican food. Big mistake. Place was very dull, bad lighting, and from the outside it looked like it was closed.

Stopped by here for a late night meal. There was a duet singing oldies and just a few others in the restaurant. Our order was quickly taken and quickly served. Both meals were excellent. Mine was the green pork burrito. Yum! Service was good. Food was great. Ambiance was neat with the duet. We would go back!

Whoever says this is the best mex in Grand Island has been eating too much Nebraska corn. We were there On July 20, 2014. There was un-bussed food left on 2 table near us. It attracted flies. It was not busy that night but the service was pathetically slow. Our waiter did was not familiar with the various menu items... More

The portions are huge. We were told to order the chimichangas, but since we were very hungry, we ordered tamales on the side. The tamales are as big as a regular burrito. We ate them for lunch the next day and they were wonderful. So were the chimis. Service was excellent. Decor was fun. My only complaint is that the... More
