The Cellar used to be great but it has gone way downhill. The service is unbearably slow and the food is really hit and miss. Probably more miss. There are a lot better options in Kearney, now. I'd only go back if I had a gift card.

We were taken here by relatives from the area. We were celebrating a birthday so we waited for a more remote table than the first one offered. My spouse and one in the other couple ordered their steaks cooked medium rare. There was a wide variance in done ness in the final product with my husband's more fully medium. The... More

My family eat there at least twice a month. We try to get seated shortly after 5 pm, as much later than that, means a possible wait time, particularly in the winter months. Their soups are great, best chili I have ever had, the sandwiches are very good, and the salads are really tasty. The meals are large, and you... More

This is simply a great restaurant to go to when in Kearny. Every time I'm in town I try to make a specific point of going to the Cellar. It is located on the lower level of a building and about the center part of town. It has a very good menu choice for appetizers, steaks, Seafood, burgers. There is... More

This is one of the few good sit down restaurants in Kearney Nebraska that isn't a chain restaurant. It has been in Kearney for over 40 years and continues to deliver. Go and have a meal and a couple of cocktails. Great place for a date night or with friends.

Best onion rings in town. Western burger is a prize winner. Friendly service - local eatery. Not one of those chains.

Went there on a recent Saturday for lunch. We had a long waiting period, and I think they were understaffed. Ordered it a salad and it was way too big. The waitress was nice.

We went with some out of state business partners and where we were sitting there was a horrible smell. So we kindly asked the hostess sit us somewhere else, and she did, and then started slamming down our menus and silverware. Our partners suggested we leave because they didn't feel comfortable eating there...and we headed to Applebees. Haven't been back... More

The Cellar Bar used to be "the" place to go in Kearney, The last few times we have been there it has been average to above average at best. Service is still very good but the food and selection has changed and some of the old standbys have been eliminated. The "Angus" steaks do not seem as tender and flavorful... More

Steaks and prime rib were great. Service was a little slow but it was a Saturday night with some large groups.
