Me, my partner and my family had an evening meal here and it was truly wonderful. From the roaring fire, to the welcoming and friendly staff it was a perfect evening. The food was delicious, highly recommend the fish pie, with an extensive and varied choice of both food and drink. Will most definitely be returning this winter, what a... More

The highlight of our trips to Cornwall is always the meal at the King’s Head. It has never failed to live up to expectations and indeed seems to have improved each time. Having the previous evening had a rather disastrous meal at another pub we felt in need of some better fortune. The food had been excellent but the noise... More

When we Visited for Sunday lunch we were not disappointed. The welcome was friendly and attentive throughout our lunch. Our host "Nicky" was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the food on the menu. The two roast dinners arrived and were absolutely delicious. There was an excellent selection of veg, perfectly cooked. The restaurant and bar area were very comfortable, clean... More

Being frequent visitors to St Mawes, we are not unfamiliar with "the best kept secret on the Roseland"....The Kings Head. We eat there at least one evening every time we stay in St Mawes. The food is always good, the warmth of the hospitality is exceeded only by the log fire, and the prices kind. What caused us to "review"... More

We picked a wet and windy Saturday in September. Not ideal driving down narrow, dark lanes, but having been here many times when we come to Portscatho, not a problem and worth the journey for a splendid three course meal. Not much more to add other than the standards are still up there and everything was as good as usual.

Yet another wonderful meal at The Kings Head. With family who have moved down from London to 45 minutes away; they were so excited to be eating at this fabulous pub. We enjoyed range of meals including Duck, Chicken, Haddock and of course the Apple, Leek and Cheddar Cake. Heavenly blood orange sorbet that tastes and brilliant as it looks.... More

Wow, never fails to impress. Had a wonderful evening, five tasting courses with paired Indian wines which were superb. The atmosphere was amazing and the team were so welcoming and truly made our dining experience memorable. This is a little gem and well worth a visit. L & S

This lovely pub is hidden away down a long narrow typical bendy Cornish road but worth finding. The menu was interesting and the dishes we chose were excellent, we only had main courses which were both fish dishes, beautifully cooked and presented and plentiful in size. We were too full to try any of the lovely sounding puddings. We visited... More

Description
Just a few miles outside Truro & about 8 miles from St Mawes, deep in the beautiful countryside, you’ll find the Kings Head in the tiny hamlet of Ruan Lanihorne, this is a Country Pub with a warm welcome, great beers and an imaginative menu. Summer evenings on the Terrace, or in the sunken Beer Garden, winter time finds us with roaring log fires......why not come along and see for yourself..
