We ordered a take-out from this restaurant, delivered to the hotel we were staying at. The "borsh" was a cabbage borscht with beef, and it was very good. We also ordered vareniki with potato filling, and although we did not have high hopes (as this was my dear late mother-in-law's best dish), it was delicious. The Perozki were OK.

Good food. Genuine Russian people. The portions are generous. Pricing is average. Don't expect fancy presentation but the flavor and taste of the meats, sides, salads and desserts are well seasoned and tasty.

Nice restaurant with large menu of Russian and other European favorites. Reasonable prices, mid-week dinner visit, small crowd. Located near the corner of Tropicana and Spencer, unassuming exterior, looks dark from the outside but nice on the interior. Skewer of lamb, skip the rice, and plate of schnitzel with fresh cut fries were both very good with nice portions. Service... More

We ate appetizers for dinner. There wasn't a thing we didn't like. Then finished off our "dinner" with honey cake and Turkish coffee (don't drink the last bit when it's Turkish). The meals was wonderful.

Our first time here, we chose to order a lot of the appetizers. They show a picture of three pirojky for $3. When we placed two orders, we thought we would have six pirojky. We got two medium buns filled with mystery meat. We ordered golubtshy -- stuffed cabbage. We placed a double order. Thank goodness we only got six... More

When I am in Las Vegas, especially with visiting Russian friends I always make sure we visit Cafe Mayakovsky. I really do not know why it is billed as a cafe, this is a quality restaurant. The food is authentic and well prepared. I can always expect and receive the food experience I profess to others. Ask the very attractive... More

I wasn't "wowed". The menu is very simple, and very limited. The apps were the best thing, cabbage rolls! Butter frozen hard, bread, ok. just ok. Food was cooked just fine - nothing raw or cold. This place has a lot of potential. Put a twist on Russian food and a couple more classical (with a twist) items on the... More

This place is outstanding. I go every time I go to Las Vegas. This trip I took three new folks, ordered five different dishes, and proceeded to addict them to Café Mayakovsky. What a variety of flavors. The home style potatoes and chicken are to-die-for. I am a chef and have yet to reproduce the chicken flavors. I make their... More

In an unremarkable strip mall, sits a remarkable Russian restaurant, with pleasant atmosphere, and more importantly, fabulous food. We started with the Blinchiki, delicate crepes filled with one of 3 choices, our's being mushrooms. Wonderful. For our entrees we had Beef Stroganoff with tender strips of beef in onion sauce with mushrooms and sour cream. Terrific. The Goulash contained tender... More

The menu looked good when I checked on line. The cooking was good but the plates were rather bare. I was hungry about 2 hour after having lunch. Their borsch was delicious, but at $5.95 for a small bowl, terribly over priced. They list meat as one of the ingredients but I found only one, tiny shred of it. The... More
