A great hidden spot with great flavors and amazing prices. The variety and order time is a plus and worth a stop while in the area.

The food was good and very reasonably priced. The carnita wet burrito and asada tacos on their homemade corn tortilla's were the best.

Located in a strip mall, small, very casual. Order and pay at the counter. Great tacos. I love chorizo tacos. I love chorizo and scrambled eggs with refried beans and warm tortillas. If you like non americanized mexican food, give this a try.

First time at this el Rey. Also first time trying a torta de milanesa and it was yummy. The steak is fried with a little bread coating. There bread is very tasty as well. I will be giving this a try again!

We stopped here on a road trip with no idea of what to expect as we didn't check TA before going in. We certainly thought the prices were reasonable so we ordered some tacos and tostadas for lunch but had no idea of the quality. We were surprised at the size of the food we received....think small.....those were the tiniest... More

Great location near the freeway but still tucked away. I never go to reno without stoping by tacos el Rey. The most authentic Mexican food I can find. I was referred by my coworker who knows his Mexican food. The food is amazing and very cheep. The service is friendly and fast. No reason not to go to tacos el... More

After looking this place up, I went to try some food cause I wanted more Taqueria style. It's just like the reviews describe. Order at the counter, take a seat and your food arrives in short order. Tried a plate of camarones (shrimp) which came with rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas. Be CAREFUL if you order things HOT because your... More

I moved to Reno a little over a week ago. I am on a mission to find tacos as good as the ones a left behind in my old hometown. I love simple, fresh taqueria style tacos. The kind you get from trucks preferably. Today I found darn good ones. Had the combo plate whic is made up of 3... More

Tacos el Rey looks like a nothing strip mall taco shop, in North West Reno. We stopped by for a quick taco lunch one afternoon while shopping. I was pleased to see half a dozen Mexican woman in the kitchen...all chatting and laughing. Gave me a very comfortable memory of times spent in Baja and Mexico. There was a small... More

Tried on a recommendation of a co-worker: More than fast food but not a sit down: Order your selection at the counter, they give you a number and then deliver the item to the table. Started with their guacamole and chips, it looked like the photo, it is a mixture of onions and tomato and peppers. Some kick to the... More
