Hatteras Sol is an excellent restaurant that consistently serves fresh, well prepared entrees. Their daily specials are on point and not to be missed. The menu is limited, but everything is well prepared. Be patient, they do not take reservations but is worth the wait....I make sure to have dinner there every time I am in the Outer Banks.More

I really hate to give this a good review. We don’t want more people coming…lolol. Most times a long wait as they do not take reservations. Worth the wait because the food is top notch!

Nice and great quality and atmosphere IF you are dining in. If you are unable to go in you can forget ordering to go. They advertise to go orders but they refused us. Couldn't even order a bowl of she crab soup to go.

Our server, Jeremy, gave us outstanding service!! Above and beyond. We had food allergies at the table and Jeremy was VERY thorough in explaining the menu and how each dish was prepared.... apps to dinner and desserts. He gave several recommendations, and we attempted to...try them all. :) We were not disappointed with anything. The food is very well prepared, very flavorful and the presentation lovely. If there happens to be a wait, sit yourself at the inside bar or the patio/bar outside. They had live music the weekend we were there. It was relaxing to sit on the patio, listening to music, watching the sunset, and observing the boats and life on the water. We had an absolutely amazing dinner!!!More

There was a line to put your name on the wait list. Just as we got to the wait stand a couple of seats opened up at the bar. We could have waited but decided to eat at the bar. They have great bartenders. They...only had local NC beers on tap. They immediately got us a drink menu and dinner menus. After a couple of drinks we ordered. I got the grouper special with pesto. My wife got the pasta with shrimp and scallops. Both were excellent. I decided to grab a dessert. They have their own Lemon pound cake. Really good. Great flavor. Not artificial tasting. Would highly recommend even if you have to wait. Worth it.More

Absolutely amazing service especially since we were their last customers of the day. I expected a weary server;nope. Our waitress was fantastic. The food was the best I’ve had since coming here (this is our 4th trip to the OBX). I truly can’t say enough...about how impressed I was.More

We had a party of four and were one of the first to arrive. We were seated at a window seat with a great view. Our waiter, Tanner, was right to table and took our drink orders. Only two of us had cocktails, one a...Sol Mule, done very nicely, and I had a martini. Being in Hatteras, I thought a nice garnish to the martini would have been a whole (small) pickled okra spear instead of an onion (which I prefer) or a change for olive lovers. Tanner quickly arrived with our drinks and took our appetizer order as we were still talking and casually reading the menu. We all shared appetizers of Southern Oyster Rockefeller and crab dip. The oysters were excellent, served over a small bed of collared greens and shave parmesan. That was definitely a winner. The crab dip was creamy and very mild, served with crispy sliced baguette bread. Two had orders of shrimp and scallop pasta. A raved (by the eaters) dish of shrimp, scallops, artichokes, olives, roasted red peppers over a bed of linguine with a white wine sauce. I tried it and it was excellent. The one thing that could have been added was a little more wine sauce over the dish. One diner had seafood Alfredo. It appeared very good, but she didn't say anything about the dish. It had to have been delicious, because she ate every bite of her meal. I had one of the specials of the day, blackened mahi, one of my favorite meals. So, the stakes were high. It was served over creamed corn and served with mashed potatoes, with asparagus stalks draped over the potatoes. It was visually very appealing as presented. The asparagus was thin, roasted, done with a little "snap" when eaten. It could not have been better prepared. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Not too starchy, not too creamy and just had an "I don't know what the chef added, but it was needed to bring it over the top." The creamed corn of course was upgraded with the addition of some green bell peppers. The cream sauce was slightly sweet. It could have been a tad thicker, I thought it was a little to the watery side. The mahi was perfection. It was moist. It was blackened on point. It was seasoned at the right balance of heat, flavor, saltiness and the fish meat could be tasted over the seasoning. The only complaint about the fish was...I wanted more....more filets of mahi...at least an entire plate of mahi. It was that good!!!! Dessert was an order of tiramisu. Tanner was a smart man, he brought four forks with the dessert. Hands down, we agreed, it was the best tiramisu we had eaten. It was garnished with blueberries, sliced strawberry, fresh whipped cream, and a mint leaf. It was every person for theirselves to claim the last piece. The bill was what you can expect for a great meal, beautiful atmosphere, and terrific service. All in all, with above written, it is a great value here in Hatteras. As we were walking, just outside of the doors, heading to our car, I said to our party, "This is my favorite restaurant in Hatteras." A person sitting on the bench outside said, "Mine too."More

Three of us enjoyed a fabulous meal at Hatteras Sol. We all shared apps of blue cab dip and fried pickled okra. Both were very good. The ladies each had an order of shrimp, scallop fettuccine. It had artichoke hearts, red peppers, kalamata olives, and...capers. The dinner looked and tasted wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were presented as grit cakes. Great presentation and a terrific dinner. The service was great as always. I love a good traditional martini. Unfortunately they didn't have onions for a Gibson and had olives. I suggested that if someone wanted a Gibson, substitute the cocktail onion with a picked okra. A very enjoyable dinner. Hatteras Sol is always my favorite finer dining restaurant on Hatteras Island.More

Hatteras Sol WG is located in a scenic spot by the dock of the ferry to and from Ocracoke. Despite its big dining room, the wait is from 30-90 minutes to be seated. Their outdoor waiting area is relaxing with a fabulous view of the...sun setting above Pamlico Sound. My crab cake is superbly toothsome with lump meat! My Mango A go go cocktail was delicious and reasonably priced. My husband’s chicken marsala with mashed potato, mixed veggies, mushrooms and pieces of ham was quite good. He normally does not favor saucy dishes and yet he was quite satisfied with his meal. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food did not take ling to be served.More

Restaurant might have decent food but on several occasions they weren’t able to service people. Open at five stop serving at 6. Open at 5 stop taking orders at 505. Not a good way to operate a business. Or have people wait 3 hours to...get served.More

Frequent visitors to Hatteras area and had always intended to give Hatteras Sol a try. Finally did this year and wish we hadn't waited so long! Sat at the bar and had crab dip (fabulous!!) and the tuna special with crabmeat on top with some...sort of sauce (Just WOW!). I'm not even usually a fan of tuna, and this blew my socks off. Between bites, Hubby said absolutely coming back! Don't know if they take reservations, and there was a long wait at arrival, so the bar was a score. Wish I remembered the waitress at the bar's name, because she was excellent as well. Friendly and very efficient. If you have to wait for a table, you can get drinks at the bar and take them to a deck out back with a lovely view.More

The she-crab soup was awesome. The...fried shrimp and scallops were the best! Would highly recommend taking in a meal at the Hatteras Sol.More
