My good friend had a life celebration for her Mom here after the funeral. It was very cozy and intimate. The staff had every thing set up and ready for everyone to mingle and chat and enjoy a nice lunch. The food was excellent and the service and staff were outstanding! This is a very cool old Inn and I... More

Usually a favorite destination for dinner in the lounge. Not a great experience last night. First the service, given the circumstance of multiple catered events going on, slower service is understandable, although not completely excusable. The lounge was not busy. We were seated at the bar and were greeted immediately, offered drinks and menus were presented. So far so good. We... More

I traveled here with my boyfriend in early November to get a tour of Durham but the B&B was a surpise treat! He's a UNH Alumnus so he wanted to stay somewhere close to the campus to show me the "full experience." The service was fantastic. Check in and check out went seamlessly. Once we got to the room we... More

We found this absolute jewel nearly a decade ago, when we were sorely in need of TLC, and have been coming here for Thanksgiving ever since. Simply put, the historic ambiance and warmly welcoming staff make every guest's holiday experience as close to a happy homecoming as is possible!! The food and service are amazing and, though it must surely... More

My wife and I took our UNH student here for a her Birthday dinner. Though, not a lot to choose from the menu, we did find choices to our liking. We really liked the quiet and quaint atmosphere in the downstairs Pub. The food was good and our server was prompt and friendly. We'll be back!

The restaurant in this historic building is a beautiful setting for a peaceful delicious meal presented by a very attentive and friendly staff. While there is not great diversity on the menu there should be something for everyone and the items I had were all very good. I started with what may be the best clam chowder I have ever... More

Visited many times because people schedule events there (only nice atmosphere in area). Last meal was a overcooked haddock with greasy potato fried crust. There is no good option in Durham. Because the Inn is charming, they charge high prices for a poor meal and slow service. Avoid if you can. Go to Portsmouth and Rye for very good restaurants

Took my daughter out for dinner as she attends UNH. Being August it was a nice option to be outside even though most of the people there seemed to be in a private staff party form UNH. However, service was too slow and it took almost 2 hours to get through dinner. Not everyone wants to linger! It was 6:15... More

About the only "upscale" option in town. The drinks and bar food are good, the full dinner is a bit less impressive. In the summer months, lots of weddings here so availability can be limited.

When we first walked in the manager upstairs was sort of rude and sent us downstairs to a pub where a lady was very nice.We sat and waited for family to arrive. Menu was not very interesting and it was hard to find something good to eat. When we ordered I think everyone's meal was so-so.Drinks were good...grandson didn't finish... More
