Winter in New Hampshire. No snow yet, but chilly. Worked outside in the yard for two days and just wanted to sit and have a warm bowl of soup. We had cheesy and rich flavored French Onion Soup and split a Reuben. A Kentucky mule for me and an Orange Martini for my wife. All really great, served efficiently and... More

Whenever I go to Henniker, I make it a point to have a bite at Daniel's. Just good food (mac and cheese is awesome). The wait staff is friendly and helpful. It's a warm place with good comfort food. Will be back!

I absolutely love this restaurant. We started going there in the late 90s and it remains just as charming as ever. Had an incredible steak salad and fish and chips meal last night. The steak salad was seriously one of the best dinner salads I have ever had. Flank steak pieces over fresh greens, with delicious blue cheese chunks, roasted... More

We often use Daniels as a place to meet friends or relatives, but the food is just average at best. Service is good and the setting allows you to see the river as you eat. Menu is extensive but nothing special. We go there because of its location and allows us to sit and visit a bit after the meal.

Nice pub atmosphere, flights of local craft beers. Good steak & local fish entrees. Waitstaff is friendly, attentive & knowledgeable about what they serve. Comfortable place for a nice dinner in a lovely, little village.

If you are in Henniker, Daniel's is a must visit for dinner. Great service and a varied menu complete with suggested wine pairings. Reasonably priced for the quality.

Haddock au gratin was watery and tasteless, crab cakes were blah and tasteless also. Even the baked potato was under cooked. The salad was fine as was the dessert but the coffee was luke warm and the clam chowder unappetizing. Will not return.

We live over an hour away, but were on an antiquarian bookstore finding mission today - found two in Henniker. When we needed a break, we stopped for lunch at Daniel's. Never heard of it before today. Our loss. Why? Not just because the waitress was efficient and friendly. Not just because the view of the Contoocook River was amazing.... More
