We truly enjoyed our visit to Peter Christians. It was Colby-Sawyer homecoming weekend, and we were told it would be a 35 minute wait, but we were seated in less than 15 minutes in a cozy corner booth. We really liked the feel and decor, and felt like we were in a tavern back in the 1800's. Everyone in our... More

Had home made pumpkin and apple soup to start. The flavor was bland but okay to eat. Had turkey dinner and it was okay. My husband had the harvest burger and thought it was very good. Service was good. Nice, small, attached gift shop available while you wait to be seated. Expect at least 1/2 hr wait on a Saturday... More

Enjoyed an anniversary luncheon here. Enjoyed the foliage on the way up 89n and then had a great meal. Everyone in our party were happy with their sandwiches (Reuben, Russian mistress and burgers). Their pretzels and mustard are delicious!

I am from Florida, but due to having family in the NH area we come for visits at least two times a year.....and EVERY time we visit the beautiful New England area we venture into Peter Christian's for lunch or dinner. Let's see.....what do I love?! Their beef stew is to die for, I love their French Dip sandwich, the... More

I have been coming to P.C's for decades! I used to come with my parents when I was in the Middle School, and when I got into High School is was the place to go with friends on a wintry New Hampshire Friday Night! Just a Cozy atmosphere! It was the place I took every date to in my younger years!... More

Very tight fit. Wooden seats very uncomfortable with my back. Service was average. Too long a wait for soups. Onio soup too hot to eat until we requested an ice cube. Seafood chowder was lumpy with only a faint of fish. Many people like this restaurant but we did not find its presentation award winning or special. We will likely... More

A couple of years ago it closed!! BOO_Hoo! When you walkin you are met by the young & beautiful & friendly Colby college kids and people from all over. Old oak and pine exposed beams for old barns of area. The patio on a sunny day is perfect, as is the"Hot- on and cold rainy day for groups of 8-10... More

It very much depends on what you order and on what night. There have been times when the food is delicious but more often than not times where the food is subpar. I haven't been in quite a while because of that. And in the last few times I've been I've stuck to apps and drinks to keep things simple.

Walking into Peter Christian's feels like you are walking into an old German tavern. BLT is tasty and the cheese plate is always a good choice.

Packed on a recent late-summer Thursday night, so we had a drink at the bar to wait for table. Clearly popular with locals. Bartender was very welcoming--when I questioned him about the chicken salad wrap (I'm not a fan of mayo), he gave me a sample (yum). Sandwiches and wraps were great, as was he free pretzels with spicy mustard... More
