I'm local. I go to Bantam when I want a break from home cooking for ten years now. Overall the food is pretty much the same it's always been which is to say the cuisine is fine. Service can be erratic. It disturbs me when...we place our order and not one but two couples arrive after us, are served first, and pay their bill to leave while we are just getting our meal. I don't know whether if it's the kitchen or servers lack of urgency accounting for this but it ensures I won't be going back this year. I'm certain when a Bantam person reads this the reaction will be, "Well, it was one of those evenings and what does one dissatisfied customer mean in the big scheme of things anyway?" Easy to do but then there's Tripadvisor on which to rant. I feel better now.More

We as a party of 6 arrived into town on a Friday evening & the staff were very accommodating, warm, & helpful. The bread was warm & toasted; the oil/vinegar was a little sweet & very tasty. Half of us ordered the scallops/pasta & liked...them. I ordered the plant based ravioli & I would not recommend it. The taste was bland & the pasta was thick. The sauce was not creamy & there was little of it so it was also dry. Most memorable were the reception of the staff & the delicious bread.More

This is one of the best restaurants in peterbourough! Their food is always great and we especially love the buffalo cauliflower. Great place to go with very few negatives.

Ain’t what it used to be. Brought wrong drink. Remade tasted terrible. Potato Leak soup had no taste. Puttanesca needed salt. Asked for it. Never got it. Wife’s burger was meh. Asked for coffee. Arrived cold. Service friendly but awful. On a positive note cauliflower...appetizer was good.More

First, make reservations. Limited seating. I had the bantam Chicken and my other half had the shrimp and grits. Started off with two drinks (warning... they are made strong!) and crostini. Everything was cooked to perfection and definitely worth the trip. Staff was great! Harrison...the owner should be proud, they are definitely the stand out restaurant in town.More

Visited after receiving recommendation from the B&B where we were staying. Didn’t have high expectations for a restaurant in a small town strip plaza. Boy were we surprised! The inside was nicely decorated, small and intimate. Our server was patient, friendly and offered recommendations on...request. My son had the pasta carbonara, my husband had the arugula salad and corn chowder and I had the salmon. Some of THE BEST FOOD we’ve had and exceptional service. Don’t be fooled by the location. This place is a must!More

I like my ‘French 75s’ and not every restaurant makes them. The Bantam’s 75 was terrific!!! Two of us had the special steak and frites entree—we adored it! Very elegant food especially for its setting. (It is in a strip mall— but don’t let that...dissuade you from going) We will be back!More

Trying to visit local restaurants weekly to help out during this time. I often eat at Bantam Grill and went there for take out last week. I ordered two things that I thought would heat up well--Beef Bolognese and Slow Cooked Short Ribs--and I was...right. Both were absolutely delicious, heated up in the microwave, and a real treat. I recommend their food and take out service highly!More

Looking for a new lunch space and saw this place on TripAdvisor. We realized that we have been by here a number of times but never noticed it as it is in a small strip mall. Who finds good food in a strip mall??? WE...DID! Upon entering you can tell this is an upscale place and would serve us well The menu is small but very intriguing. We both were looking for a salad and we found exactly what we wanted. We waitstaff was extremely helpful and friendly from the outset I had a mixed green salad with a very large piece of perfectly cooked salmon. One of the best pieces of salmon I have every had My wife had a sirloin with her salad and again it was actual sirloin and cooked exactly the way she requested it I cannot recommend this place more!More

Bartender Morgan could (should) give classes to the local bartenders in courtesy and consideration of customers. Onion soup and burger excellent and consistent. My favorite of the Peterborough eatery/bars.

I enjoy their lunches but dinner very disappointing. First of all, if you are going to serve enough mashed potatoes to feed a football team, can I have a little more gravy? Short ribs were well cooked but with little gravy an woefully undercooked root...vegs, the meal was a disappointment. Bantam chicken chewy with even more mashed. A total turnoff. And the Allman Bros a bit loud on a Sunday eve just didn’t match the vibe of the place. Back to lunches only at this restaurant.More
