Many people return to the same restaurant for the same meal; when we return to the Beach Plum, it is always for the Lobster Roll which must be their "Signature" dish. Having travelled the country and sampled lobster rolls in many states, the Beach Plum...More

My husband and I love the Beach Plum! They have what they call Footlong Lobster Rolls where you get 2 Lobster Rolls chock full of lobster with a bag of chips. We share this and we paid $33.99 - That's a Great Deal as we've...More

The Beach Plum is basically an ice cream stand with an enclosed picnic table style dining area. On a cool nor cold February afternoon the dining area was chilly and noisy with patrons trying to converse over loud mainstream pop music. Given the highway location...More

The Beach Plum has a lot of items on their menu, but when I looked around the room just about everyone was eating a lobster roll. The lobster rolls are prepared in the classic New England style, lobster meat with a whisper of mayo on...More

Stopped in here with a school group after a beach clean up project. The food was tasty, the seating was spacious, and they managed to get out the food quickly without missing any quality! I love coming here.

Counter restaurant with picnic table seating. There were lots of take out orders but we stayed and ate in the restaurant. The restaurant is known for their lobster roll and that's what I ordered. It was good I won't say the best ever but it...More

We don't take reservations but our tables turn over very quickly with food on your table usually in 7 minutes from the time you order at the front counter. So even on the busiest days you'll get a table in 5-10 min. No 1-2... More

The Beach Plum opened in 1992 at North Hampton state beach as a breakfast and lunch restaurant. The next year, a better location became available just down the street (at it's current location) and it became a take out food and ice cream stand. That original location continues to operate seasonally April - October each year. Based on strong growth in the business at that beach location, a second Beach Plum location was opened at 2800 Lafayette Road (Route 1) in Portsmouth on St Patrick's Day 2011. This Portsmouth location features an expanded menu that includes award winning fried seafood with both indoor and outside deck dining. The Portsmouth Beach Plum was featured on TV Diner in 2012 and Phantom Gourmet in 2011 which named it as a Great 8 restaurant for both it's famous lobster rolls AND fried clams. The Beach Plum is believed to be the only restaurant in New England to be so honored as 1 of the 8 best for BOTH seafood specialties. In December 2015, a new Beach Plum opened at the Brickyard Square Plaza, 24 Calef Highway (Route 125),Epping,NH. That location shares the same menu as this Portsmouth location.
