It is an old beautiful mansion. Very dark inside with books shelves around the tables. No air conditioning, it was a bit stuffy. The service was good. As for the food, it was alright. I ordered the swordfish. The building inside and the outside was...More

We really wanted to like The Library. We loved the setting, the service was attentive and sweet and the martini was perfectly icy cold. The food, however...dry, bland and otherwise largely unremarkable; so much so that I wanted to go into the kitchen and fix...More

Compliments to the chef! And the waiters, wine steward and bar man. Terrific dinner in a charming and impressive manse in downtown Portland. Don't miss the filet mignon or the desert tray.

Enjoyed an evening out with my husband. Love the charm and ambiance of this restaurant and bar. Great food well done. A must for a special night out. The prime sirloin, lobster Mac and cheese, baked brie and salad were well seasoned and large portions.

My wife and I visited this restaurant during a weekend getaway. The crab cakes and side orders were delicious and we were glad to be seated right away.

We had dinner here and were surprised at the al la carte prices for the side dishes. My husband had the chicken, which he thought was over priced for the grade of meat - needless to say he was not a fan. I had the...More

We went to the Library for a special occasion. The atmosphere, service, and food surpassed our expectations. Better air conditioning would help in August, but it was not uncomfortable. I recommend this place for when your looking for a special meal.

Wait staff didn't notice us at first, but was very attentive after they realized their error (and gave us free drinks because of that too). The ribeye was great. Broccoli was a bit over-cooked for me, but I realize some people like their steamed vegetables...More

This a lovey place and looks exactly like an old library complete with books that you can pull off the shelves and read! The staff were excellent and the menu was interesting. Food was delicious. Certainly worth a visit.

The Worth parking lot, about two blocks away is your best bet. During the summer, however, even it is often full.
