We stayed here for two nights in late October and were captivated by the place and it's ambiance. The old inn is a work in progress. We had a lovely room furnished with antiques, with a view of the back yard. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom updated and serviceable. The London Tavern was the best! Happy hour consisted of... Quaint, rustic... a step back to earlier times. Great place for a dinner that is not like any other around. Bangers and mashed, mushy peas and eggy bread..... yum. And true British black tea!. Not really a place for young kids...

Since we all live close by we frequently stop in for drinks after a bike ride. Nick and Andrew are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Solid reliable menu too!

My friend and I returned to the Birchwood Inn for a fall outing. Andrew and Nick are the best hosts. We love this B&B. Charming and inviting. Lovely gardens. A blend of England and New England. We are already planning a return visit. Be sure to check out the fabulous bacon at breakfast. And if need be - canes are... More

We stayed at The Birchwood in June 2016. The room was absolutely charming- as were our hosts. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. We would recommend The Birchwood B&B to family or friends without hesitation. If you're anywhere near Temple NH you should make it a point to stay here. Thank you Andrew & Nick for a great experience.... More

We have been going to the London Tavern for a few years and the food, atmosphere, and overall experience is always fantastic. This was the first time we went for Sunday Brunch. The English breakfast was great. In fact, it was better than what we had in our last trip to England. All of their food is made to order... More

If you're looking for a reminder of a traditional English pub and Inn, this is the place. If you have no idea what an English pub is, this is still the place! After 11 years we finally ventured over the mountain to this great little tavern. They have an exceptional beer collection, the martinis were nicely made and half the... More

The Birchwood Inn, and its previous owners, Bill and Judy, is part of my history in being in New Hampshire. In the late 1990s I could not keep on my bookshelves copies of Jean Lipman’s book, RUFUS PORTER. Rufus was an intinerant muralist in the mid-19th century, decorating homes in New Hampshire and Maine. I was hooked on his work.... More

Being Brits that have lived in the USA for four years, we were interested to try this out, and were not disappointed. The food was very good (especially the puddings), reasonably priced and a great atmosphere. The "host" was absolutely lovely and very entertaining. Will go back in a heartbeat.
