I love this place! Great atmosphere in the center of Walpole. They have a steak tip dish that is Awesome! Been twice in about four weeks!

Met friends for a lunch at the Walpole Village Tavern. Food was very good and service was fairly friendly and relatively fast. Restaurant was empty when we arrived but it filled up quick. Atmosphere was very pleasant and had that historic tavern feel. Everyone liked their food and cocktails and beer. I would recommend to anyone in the area for... More

It is the same comfortable and friendly atmosphere that makes the tavern a very nice place to meet friends for a casual dinner. There's a nice sized menu with a variety of entrees to sandwiches and burgers. There is a full bar and plenty of parking.

I met some friends for dinner and drinks, and the place was very quiet with most of the seats filled with 60 and older. I had the crab cakes with aioli and they were very good. Our waitress seemed to be in a rush and gave us the feeling that we should rush as well. However, the bartender was fantastic... More

Met friends for a casual lunch on a Saturday. We were quickly seated and served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. The menu had a wide range of choices for both food and drink. The food was served promptly and was quite tasty. If you're looking for a casual, sit-down lunch, you can't go wrong.

We ate lunch there and the food was overcooked, they charged extra for food we never even ordered and for extras that should have been included in the high prices. Setting inside was very nondescript and the waitress was more concerned with the crowd at the bar than waiting on us.

After exploring Distant Hill Gardens, we headed to Walpole for lunch. We found the Tavern was open. I had the Aunt Rachel - turkey sandwich with coleslaw plus chips and my friend had a Pulled Pork Basket. Both were good and filling. Nice selection of wine and beer to wash it down. The service was good and priced very reasonably.

We eat here about once a month. It is a nice joint with a reliable menu. Since we were last here in August they have changed the menu - there are somewhat fewer selections than before and a variety of new offerings. I get the impression that they are trying to do somewhat fewer dishes but each one at a... More
