Stopped by not knowing what to expect. Walked down the stairs to a cozy bar with great food and friendly staff. My boyfriend ordered the BLT and it was deliciously loaded with bacon lettuce tomato and topped with a honey wheat bread. Big Enough to split. The bar had good drink specials too with a pint of Scheiffenhofer grapefruit beer... More

Hubby and I rested before the holiday postal rush at work with a timeshare stay at Loon Mth. Pollard brook Woodland Lodge was excellent location to see the SuperMoon! Lunch at Truant's is a regular haunt..steak tips smothered with onion ring crisps, roast beef sub melted 😣Provolone with fries, quiet yet friendly waitress. Before the snow lovers arrive, this was... A fun filled place with good food and surrounded by artifacts from libraries. We liked the meals and the quick service. They check whether everything is as you like it. One complaint and they will do all they can to fix it. We were missing catsup and everyone took time to look for it. Really nice.

Went to this place after the service was non existent at Woodstock Inn and Brewery. These people were on it for service! Cool little tavern tucked downstairs in the building. The food was good and the service was exceptional.

The atmosphere is pretty bar-ish, and the place was packed and a bit loud, but we had takeout and couldn't have asked for better. Lobster rolls were really outstanding and worth going for. The place was recommended by some locals, and they weren't wrong!

Nice Tavern, good selection of beers, friendly staff, good food. it was a very quiet tuesday night. It appears that they will be opening a new different restaurant upstairs (which threw us off at first). However, Truant's Taverne will remain downstairs.

We randomly picked this restaurant passing through town and were pleasantly surprised. We shared a "most popular" sandwich (cheese steak) and a summer salad. Both were good, though the salad had too much dressing for our taste.

Visited Truant's Tavern on a mid-week afternoon looking for a quick drink and an appetizer. There were not a lot of people there even though it was the height of foliage season in the White Mountains of NH. Our greeting from the hostess was rather abrupt and apparently our request to sit outside at their patio was not expected. When... More

This was a last-minute stop for lunch with a group of 40. The staff handled the unannounced visit very well. The food we really good, especially the fish and chips. Lightly battered HUGE pieces of Haddock. Good job y'all!

Thank Mark B
