My bride and I had lunch on a cold March Day. We were the only patrons in the restaurant, so we had the undivided attention of our server Austen. Needless to say we had the best lunch ever thanks to Austen and his grandmothers cooking. Excellent tacos. Guac to die for. Will always remember our visit to 5 de Mayo.... More

Nice little place with authentic mexican food. You can also get many American dishes as well. Generous portions and the staff was lovely.

everything we ordered has a fresh, exciting taste. we were pleased with the tortilla chips, the freshness of the Guac, the seared meats and scallop/shrimp dish, and the presentation. Not so happy to see stupid farm raised salmon on the menu with all the fresh fish this port offers. but Food was hot, well presented, and a fair value for... More

My wife and I have been with kids and couples several times before and have been happy with both service, good and price. Last night was terrible. The service was abysmal. It took over an hour from order to food arriving and it wasn't overly crowded.

You can easily drive right by this "little hole in the wall". Very small inside, great food, large portions and reasonably priced. BYOB

It's a nice place to eat and enjoy some of the Tex-Mex offerings you don't find along the main streets of Cape May. Yes, there are times when I crave Chipotle when I'm away so this makes up for it.

My wife and I needed to get a quick dinner before getting on a sunset cruise around the cape. This restaurant was very close and accessible. The inside is fairly spartan but is comfortable. We were there early so we were able to sit immediately. The waiter brought the chips and dip quickly and we were able to order. The... More

Food was cold, the service took forever, rice was cold asked for hot rice got cold rice again, asked for simple rootbeer and got other sodas, and the food was bland no authentic Mexican taste. I don't see how this place got 4 stars. I don't recommend this as a restaurant to go to.

We liked this place so much that we went TWICE during our four-day visit to Cape May. That speaks volumes about a restaurant which is located in a town that is filled with stellar restaurants. 5 de Mayo (pronounced cinco de mayo) offers traditional style Mexican items that are among the absolute best we've eaten anywhere. Their mole is to... More

As it is when I come to Cape May I need an armored car to bring cash, with so may businesses being cash only. I tend NOT to patronize cash only resturaunts. I called this one and they said they accepted credit cards, just not American Express (another pet peeve). When the check came my credit card and my wife's... More
