In this location, Carney's needs to serve only adequate food. It is a great location and the server did a great job. All in all it was a good experience....but I have had better ribs. It does represent a decent value; especially for Cape May.

We were there pre-season in May and the early bird special was better than we expected....Excellent and a great value. I had the ribs and they were enough for 2 meals. That always makes me happy.

Good food, good prices, helpful wait staff. The hamburgers are cooked the way you like them - very rare, well done, or anywhere in between. Very tasty. The beer selection on tap was very good too.

We stopped in because everywhere else was crowded, Carney's not at all. 80's music, from sirius radio, I believe, was on. Drink prices were a bit steep considering how few people were there and no entertainment at 930pm on a Friday. Had 2 drinks, no interest in food because of the blah feeling of the place and crowd. Has potential... More

Great physical layout - excellent bar, large dining area, good bartender - unfortunately, in the off season they only have three beers on tap. There are much better options available nearby.

We stopped in here after a 6.5 hour drive looking for dinner and they were actually open. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the town. The bang bang shrimp was great and so was the crab/shrimp salad. We ended up drinking here for awhile as well. Fun night!

We had visited Carney's Main Room on Saturday (April 21st) both in afternoon and night to hear Jazz groups. We ordered Cabernets that we're a decent pour for the money. Returned on Sunday to be disappointed by a pour of about half of previous day. When we guestioned the bartender, we were told that's the pour. We said that we... More

We went for lunch on Easter Sunday as the town was closed down. There is a large bar, tables for service and what looks like a large dance floor. The sandwiches was served with a bag of chips, I chose a burger and fair. This is a convenient place for lunch and to take a break. It is not exceptional... More

The food was pretty good, drinks were very good and service as prompt and friendly. The restaurant was filled during lunch. I think it is a little expensive for what it is.

We discovered excellent food and service at this restaurant, even when some other local restaurants had long waits. The ambience, while pleasant, has an older, perhaps more traditional feel. The bar was closed when we visited, so the restaurant was nice and quiet for our family visit. The French onion soup was a big highlight. They did not bring bread... More
