Years ago I went here and HATED the place. After a friend wanted to go there for his birthday, I went along to make everyone happy. The food has always been outstanding, but the service was rude, rushed and outright nasty. Not anymore. The service...that night was exceptionally good and the waitress was an older woman with a very nice personality. I would normally give this place a one star review, but honestly, that waitress turned it around. I recommend the steak, bangers and mash aren't bad (I prefer it with onion gravy instead of mustard, but not bad at all), but I would avoid the Guinness. I found the pour to be off. Not creamy like a proper pint, but instead it was thin and too cold. Overall, I can see giving the place five stars as soon as my next visit as long as the service holds up. Great news.More
Wonderful local lunch, dinner, snack and drinks establishment. Well prepared food and cocktails. Friendliest service in the area. Can be a wait, but well worth it. Been going here for decades and never had a bad time, meal or drink.
The Quiet Man is a staple in our area but I just never made it here til now. Only sorry I waited so long! Very cosy atmosphere was only a little too much in the 4th quarter of an important game. Game not important to...me to loud angry fans standing over my table was a draw back. But they left quickly and it wasnt a deal breaker for me.
The service was quick and attentive. Best house salad (to come with meal) and homemade house dressing I've seen in a long time. Thanks for dark leafy greens and radicchio in the salad! Who actually likes iceberg really!?
Loved my lamb chop entree with a surprising apricot chutney. My husband had the pork which was enormous but very amazingly tender. House scalloped potatoes were luscious.
Brought home half of dinner so we could leave room to try one of the myriad of interesting desserts. We had the sauteed banana in whiskey sauce over butter pecan ice cream.
Also, the hot apple cider and whiskey cocktail I started with was amazing!More
My husband raved about this restaurant that he and his co-worker had eaten at several times. So, I was glad when I visited them on Saturday night, that they treated me to dinner at The Quiet Man. This meal, alone, was worth the drive from...Hamilton, ON to Dover, NJ. Everything on the menu looked really appealing - and all the plates going past our table looked really good. The Chicken Pot Pie, Double Cut Pork Chop Milanese, Thursday Steak Special, Pan-Grilled Prime Centre Cut Pork Shop, and Beet Salad are all highly recommended. The food was great. The service was good. The place was hopping. Everyone - customers and staff - were all friendly. Wish is was closer to home.More
One of my favorite restaurants with excellent food and great service. Many Irish specialties like bangers and mash, fish n chips and shepherd’s pie. I always enjoy their grilled salmon and sesame encrusted tuna. Dinners are served with salads and brown bread. Many specials daily....Small portions are great for a lite dinner. Friendly, accommodating staff.More
