Such a friendly welcome from our server & with her suggestions on the menu made our choices easier. The chip salad with roasted chicken & walnuts was a big hit! A little pricey for a cup of soup, but the chicken vegetable was homemade & tasty.

Restaurant smells of cooking grease. Ordered the fish and chips. Fish was ok until the end which became soggy and fishy. Chips were thick and way overdone. Was still hungry so ordered the bread pudding. That was ok.

This is my 3rd visited to the British Chip Shop. Ordered the chicken and chips. The chicken was very juicy yet the crust was not crisp. In fact it was soggy! The chips were not good at all. Terrible quality of potatoes were used. IMHO, the oil in the fryer has not been changed since the shop opened. My dinner... More

My wife surprised me for my birthday and took me for lunch. Being a Brit I was excited at the prospect of having some favourites and seeing how the food was. I ordered the scotch egg to start which was OK, despite being served with Branston pickles. Before ordering my main course, I asked our server what fish they used... More

I've been a few times- the food is good, but if they're busy things get slow. I love the pot of tea, always sad when it's finished. The fish and chips is good; brunch can be tasty too. It's nice to stroll around town afterwards.

Arrived at 12:45pm to a moderate crowd. Service was quick, but more than a bit nonchalant. As it was our first visit we ordered the fish and chips. They arrived incredibly quickly (within 5 minutes.) The Fish portion was small, but very hot - right out of the fryer. The fries were hot on the outside and cool/cold on the... More

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I loved the fish and chips but this last time was so disappointing. There was all batter and hardly any fish.

Love going to The British Chip Shop for a quick weekday dinner. Rarely a wait, good solid food, reasonably priced. My husband always gets the fish and chips which nicely come in a few sizes depending on your appetite. I love the chicken and mushroom pie which comes with a light, flaky puff pastry top instead of a heavy crust... More

My wife and I went there this past Saturday evening. It was just OK. The fish was fresh and good. I recommend to eat it when it is hot because it will be "more" greasy. The batter had a decent crunch. The fried fish sat on the chips so the chips were a bit greasy. We had the marinated olives.... More
